Yeah, I'm surprised that that was the reaction, although I'm also curious who it was that reacted that way. I've got to imagine that Nick and Co. are pretty grateful for their investors over the years, but I suppose I might be projecting a little there.

What is this battle axe bottle opener people are referencing, and where can I purchase one with human dollars?

Wasn't the bottle opener like $35? I remember seeing it and thinking it was cool, but I thought I recalled the price being pretty steep.

Ah, it was an FFF-branded item? I'm sure it'll pop up on their site then.

Yeah, that's a pretty obnoxious attitude, and not out of line with what I've heard from people about FFF (I've never experienced it first-hand). Shame.

While that's pretty exorbitant, wasn't the Rare Day one at least that much? :stuck_out_tongue:

Sigh, the world we live in, where a bottle opener sells for the price of a pair of jeans.

*insert "my jeans are $200!" joke here*

The battle axe opener was $30. Still pretty steep. I didn't pull the trigger until later in the day after enough beers were in me to lower my concern for how much I was spending. I do like it though. Doesn't bend caps when you use it, I'll have to see how it does with waxed bottles soon. This is the guy who makes them: http://www.designpublic.com/sam-fal...Shopping+-+United+States+-+search+-+sam+falco
So you can buy them without the 3 Floyd's logo for about $20 shipped.

Hey, at least you got 11 years of OK attitudes before this bad incident (barring some mishaps I suppose during that time). We fools who "invested" in J Wakefield got shit on as OGs from the start!

Thanks for clarifying, and you are 100% correct about the lowered concern for spending later in the day. I have ZERO idea how much I paid for the set of gold and platinum mini-snifters from DM, and I had gone into the event saying I wasn't going to buy them. :flushed:

I figure I've got some great glasses now to use for tastings when I'm sharing with friends and family.

Beer-induced spending is one of my favorite things. I don't know how many times I've yolo-purchased off of Amazon at like 10pm on a Friday or Saturday night, a few beers in. Great feeling!

Because a "Moloko" is a style of stout, don't you know. Most breweries worth their salt make one, adding milk with the appropriate levels of futuristic pharmaceuticals to them.
