I think this is still seasonal, isn't it? Although I can still find these in bottle shops long after it's released. I wholeheartedly agree though, this is easy to find and a great BA stout

It's still seasonal, I also have to recommend their BA barleywine.

Agreed, the Central Waters is top class and also agree on the Dragons Milk, dont think you'll find two ba stouts more readily accessible than these, two stouts almost as good as any, as ba stouts are mainly what i chase.BA Siberian Night is also a good one but pricey.

No sir. There is only one actual BA yeti and it is more rare than bcbs or kbs, its had two runs in six years.

He was talking about the oak aged variants, no they aren't barrel aged but a lot of people count wood aged.

Bourbon barrel aged stouts are one of my favorite beer styles. As far as year round availability I would go with Anderson Valley Bourbon Barrel stout, it's also very drinkable and has a low ABV for a BBA stout.

Chocolate oak as well, thats still 3 wood aged variants of that beer. I do agree there is a difference between wood aged and barrel aged and wouldn't count them as the same category.

There's usually one of the common ones available (BBB) or a seasonal (Parabola) so they are essentially year round. You just got to be flexible

The time it takes to make a bourbon barrel aged beer is usually around a year. Most breweries don't have the space to do more than about a batch at a time. So almost no brewery has a "year round barrel aged stout". That being said, you can usually find a few barrel aged stouts being released every month, you just need to find what ones you like. I feel like Clown Shoes releases a BA beer just about every month....not all of them are up to par with world class BA stouts but they are one of the few breweries to always have a BA beer available. Firestone walker is consistently releasing world class BA beers as well. Parabola, Velvet Merkin, Sucaba, Stickee Monkey, Helldorado, Anniversary ales, etc, pretty much released every other month.

There is not really a "go to" BBA beer, but there are constantly released BA beers. The most common would probably be the two listed (Big bad baptist, and Dragons Milk), but the trick is to find what good ones are being released every month so you can still change things up.

There are so many to choose from. I like them because they age very well so when I do get my hands on something special I buy extra so it is always available in my cellar. My last catch was a 4 pack of BA Siberian Nights and 2 bottles of Framinghammer BA Vanilla and Coffee porter. I thought the BA Siberian Nights was excellent and is easy for me to find. I drank 2 and stored 2. The Framinghammer went straight onto the shelf. Last week I found an entire case of KBS in the dairy section of an obscure inter-city grocery store. Talk about a BA luck-out. I was shocked but thrilled once I got it into my truck. 5 four packs went into storage for special occasions(oink). Over time I always have a dozen or two types of BA stouts or porters that are rotating in and out of my cellar depending on what I feel like having or what I find while looking for beers to purchase. Now that the weather is changing I will be slowing up as I switch to more seasonal selections but come next fall I will be stocked up.

Also a seasonal, but no one seems to buy it so it could be sitting on the shelf for a while...Siren noire by heavy seas

Hoppin Frog > Dragons Milk imo

It's a little on the pricey side but I think it's in line with other beers of similar quality.

@SummitSeries72, not sure if it is year round but Wicked Weed in NC recently released Dark Age a BB aged Russian Imperial.
I love this beer, some say it is overly boozy but I feel it is very well balanced and quit complex.
Highly recommend if you can get your hands on some !
