Finback Brewery (2018)

Quick question. Does Finback distributes to other bottle shops in NYC? or are there beers brewery only? The brewery is quiet far from the downtown so it seems are to visit here

 

yes, but on a very limited basis. whenever they have releases the bottles generally tend to trickle out to some stores, but not many and not in huge quantities

 

Anyone heard when BQExC bottles are supposed to be dropping? According to this article from late February, they ended up bottling 50 cases of it the same time they did Apple Brandy BQE.

 

What supermarket was it? Looks like they took it down

had this earlier today @ Clinton Hall..Pleasantly surprised on how good this was..coconut was present, but not overpowering...my session beer for the day

 

Has anyone opened 2014 BQE lately? Curious how its holding up

I had 2014 BQE on tap 2-3 months ago and it was fantastic. I know aging in a keg vs bottle is different but safe to assume they've aged with grace.

 

I still prefer it over most barrel aged stouts. Not sure if it's just my NY pride or that I have yet to try all the "top tier" BA stouts.

 

2014 BA BQE was supreme...easily one of the better BA stouts I've had and could easily hold its own vs. it's bigger name brethren...and vastly superior to the 2015 BA BQE

 

It hurts me to say this but you are correct about 15--just not the same flavors you got in the 14

Hi guys, I'm visiting NYC this summer and was wondering about Finback. 1.Do day distribute to other bottle shops than their brewery? 2.If not, is it worth to visit brewery? It seems pretty far from the main town and never tried their beers so I'm concerned... thanks!

 

It's definitely worth checking out if you have the time. Not sure on how long distribution lasts in shops after a release. You might be able to get some cans from some locals. A lot of good people on this site you can probably just do $$ for cans with someone if they aren't available. Bringing stuff to trade from Korea is a hassle I'd imagine.
