I have about mix two cases of macro beers left over from various party and thought what would happen if I decided to use them as a base beer and pitched in either a Brett/Lacto mix or build up various dregs and pour them in? I am sure there are still various sugars left for the bugs to eat. Maybe I could add a could pounds of fruit to add additional flavor.

Is this a dumb idea or a waste of time? Has anyone done this before?

I haven't tried it. But I suspect you would end up with a bland beer that is also sour. Doesn't sound like something I would enjoy but that's just me.
Try it and find out. Worst case you are out a few dollars for the beer and bugs. Just don't get your hopes up.
    Cheers.

I think I saw that @stealth tried this before on one of the 'brewing activities' forums. He'll have to weigh in on how it turned out, but it sounds crazy enough to work!

Yep did it a few months ago. Haven't sampled it yet, but it has a pellicle now and is definitely fermenting. Planning on letting it go for a year then tasting.

Sorry for missing this post previously, but thought I would resurrect this thread anyways with an update.

It's been 5 months since I poured the following into a 1 gallon carboy:
    2x Milwaukee's Best
    2x Busch Lager
    1x Coors Light
    1x Sol
    3 oz dextrose
    Bruery Befuddlement dregs
    Bruery Rueuze dregs

This is what it looks like as of tonight:

Have any of you had Petrus Aged Pale? That is pretty much what this 'AAL Sour Blonde' tastes like. Not too shabby at all.

    Tonight I added:
    2x Coors Banquet
    4 oz maltodextrin
    Bruery Flander's Giant dregs

Will check on it in another 5-6 months and see how it's tasting now that the carboy is filled completely.

@stealth I was about to say that I saw your post on MTF this morning about this beer.
