I think there's plenty of objectifying going on with GOT.

The Elderberries beer says its a "medieval" beer on the bottle. And im not sure of grainiac but i thought i heard it was the same deal.

Hypothetically, the idea of drinking a Game of Thrones beer or themed beer while watching the show seems like a cool/good idea but at the moment I've had 3 of the Ommegang GOT series with 1 another on deck, but to be honest none of them rate over a 3.75 out of 5 for me and there are plenty of other beers out there I'd rather be drinking. Granted, I don't watch the show but that's nonetheless in regards to quality. With Dogfish Head already being mentioned they have better and crazier beers in my opinion. I'd rather just open a nice aged barleywine if I were watching GOT.

Can confirm Uncle Jacob's Stout pairs with all the episodes. Might need 2 if there are Sand Snakes in the episode.

    Beer Wenches, that's the answer.

Does it really matter?? My buddy at work says before you drink the game of thrones beer.. You are required to maime, injure or kill at least 3 lannisters or bump a dragon before you open one up and have some.

"Bump a dragon"? Yes that was what he said ...
    LOL !

I actually thought Game of Thrones was some sort of medieval period piece like The Tudors until the kids had me watch a segment.

I thought about trying to find "historical"/medieval-style beer to drink while watching GoT too, but I feel like it's more appropriate to drink the gnarliest, sludgiest, astronomically high ABV imperial stout I can find instead. Got a crowler of '13 BCS for this weeks episode, and a bottle of '15 First Nail for next weeks.

Only beer that I've had that comes to mind is called Dunes from Solarc out of Los Angeles. It's a gruit beer..pretty good.

I'll agree with urk1127 and recommend the 'Your Father Smelt of Elderberries'. That was a great beer. Most likely an Sahti would do the trick as well..

I found a bottle of GOT a couple of weeks ago.

    Cheers!

They're not bad beers by any means. I had Seven Kingdoms and Iron Throne for the premier and I thought they were pretty good.

As far as I am concerned, Beer Wenches are always the answer. Tyrion and I would get along.

    Mead in one of these!

The Ommegang GoT beers have a lukewarm reception? I've only had Seven Kingdoms so far and thought it was pretty good. Looking forward to trying the others.

Seven Kingdoms was the bottle I got.

Seven Kingdoms was my favorite, and i've tried them all so far.

Every Sunday my buddy and I usually start the show off with an Ommegang GOT offering and then transition into a stout.

That being said, however, I feel that mead or a really tannic red wine would also be appropriate!

Something that will keep me awake since I can't watch that show without falling asleep.

I feel like they did not use dark-roast Sumatran coffee adjuncts in ye days of olde.

Also: Game of Thrones puts you to sleep?! It's one of the most action packed shows on television! And it has some of the most scintillating political dialogue this side of the West Wing! And gob smacking cinematography! And etc!
