You seem to have strong opinions about what breweries should and shouldn't do with the beer they produce, perhaps you should open your own?

it was on as of last night. No signs that they had any blank cans of it for sale.

Are talking about the session IPA that did not get released a week ago?

Yeah, the East Coast session IPA that ended up being too West Coast; there were rumors they were going to can it, but not sure that happened. Still hoping for the next official can release on 5/14..

I was there last night, Damfino is good. Definitely more west coast, the sharp bitter and its sessionable. They were selling pours from cans not on draft.

for those of you Beer Advocate subscribers who read the Southland Ales article, curious what you thought.

it was surprisingly better than I thought it would be, but there were some glaring omissions and odd choices. not sure why they chose to speak with some brewers over others. also, weird that they didn't even interview Henry and he's on the cover. i have a feeling the author must live in the valley.

i guess most of the articles in BA are not that detailed at the end of the day, but it seemed like they left quite a bit out for a feature story. still, think they painted LA in a positive light as an up and coming brewing city

Two years ago I don't think I could name a brewery within the county of Los Angeles that had people scrambling to be at a computer or lining up for in person bottle releases (am I missing one? I'm thinking pre-Beachwood hype monster). We're definitely in much better shape brewery-wise than we were. Feels good to finally have awesome locals that consistently brew delicious specialties in addition to great core lineups.

I randomly saw a case of this in Manhattan the other day. Not sure if it was a one time shipment as part of the Bootlegger's Ball event in NYC two weeks ago, but Vellichor wasn't yet in the system so I couldn't buy it unfortunately.

Monkish posted on Facebook that they're in NYC for a few days, and will be dropping some bottles at various spots, as well as adding some draft options too. Likely Other Half opened some doors there, since they're pals.

They usually drop the news Thursday before the release on IG. Need more IPAs for Firestone. Help me monkish.

There will be a can (double batch size) release this Saturday. Fear not.
