Good morning BA, have a great Sunday!

Fantastic Gose again this year. Flavors of big tart cherry, lemon, lime, green apple, wheat, cracker, coriander, sea salt, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good sized fruity/acidic tart/sour finish; with balanced salinity and acidity in the mouthfeel. Moderate acidic dryness and very drinkable. Only bought one 4 pack so far, but will definitely be getting 1 or 2 more while I still can. Definitely a top gose favorite.


My go-to English styled porter. Big robust and complex flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, light coffee, caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, and light nuttiness; with restrained plum/apple English yeast fruitiness and light-moderate herbal hops. Balanced herbal/roast bitter finish with a great creamy/silky mouthfeel. An all around incredible beer every single time. I definitely try to keep this one in the fridge constantly now.


Awesome IPA as always. Bright flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange rind, light pepper, and pine hop/fruit notes; with some light caramel/toasted bready malt and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/rind/spicy bitterness; with a sticky and lightly creamy mouthfeel. Good dryness with no bitter hop astringency. Been drinking this a lot ever since release. Glad it’s year round.


Outstanding quad as usual. Flavors of big raisin, plum, fig, date, cherry, apple, light banana, pepper, clove, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, molasses, bourbon, toasted oak, and light vanilla. Peppery yeast and spicy oak finish; with a medium-full bodied creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel. Light-moderate spicy yeast and oak dryness. Very warming finish, but still smooth sipping. Love this just as much as the base beer. A bit boozier, but has all of the same great complexity, with added barrel notes. Wish it came in 4 packs like pretty much all of their other barrel offerings.

A nice start to Mother's Day!

 

Had a fun day yesterday, getting ready for the throwers dinner at my place on Monday. Smoked a shoulder for 12 hours! Got to sneak away and watch the waves across from my neighborhood. The swell was overhead, pretty heavy in spots. The paddle out to this break is a good 10 minutes, nothing easy. After you paddle out, then you have to be in good enough shape to surf thick waves that were up to 10ft, over reef. No thanks, I'll just sit and watch with the decent looking chick on the right side (hard to tell in the pic, but I wasn't complaining).

Now it's done, time to celebrate with a smokey/boozy beer! One of my all time favorites. Too bad I have to travel to the mainland to get it.

A little breakfast before Mother's Day festivities officially begin. Wife opted for deck reno vs. brunch, so to work I go.
