So originally they said that, but in the email there is no mention of it. Also with only an hour at each session, if we have to vote and take the time to hear about everything then there won't be any time to actually drink and enjoy it.

From the sound of the email, it looks like we are just getting each barrel on it's own and then we can blend if we want to or not.

"Taste samples individually or blend at your discretion, enjoy a world-class bacchanal of fruit, cheeses, and charcuterie, and keep an eye out for a few more surprises along the way"

well thats a bummer. it sounded so cool when they told me about it at the end of week of logic. i guess the mere size of the crowd they have to accomodate kinda shit on that idea in the end.

Agreed, that sounded cool but I guess it is what it is. I'll take some free FO though!

I mean if they are looking at 1000 people (rounding/including staff+friends), and give 2oz pours of each, that is 8oz per guest which would equate to 500 bottles. I feel like I heard 4000 bottles (probably [hopefully?] more) estimated yield, so that would mean 12.5% of the total yield used up at a tasting. From what I can tell, they are vastly aware of it and trying to make good on the tasting/blending event and that is awesome.

If they let people experiment/play with the barrels, I wager 1000 crazy-excited-enthusiast people (they put up with those lines for 7 days straight) could kill 40%+ (1.5 bottles each) without much effort. Full disclosure I am not T3 so I am hoping it doesn't get too crazy but it is their beer, they can do whatever they want with it. From a business standpoint they already made $ during the 7 days of packing their establishment.

I feel like they said there was way more than 4000 bottles of FO. I know they have stated they made a TON more than last year.

    2PM here

Did anyone actually have any issues? If this went smoothly and so did the last release, it appears BL might have figured out the process and got everything setup nicely before the FO release.

    2pm here too.

So smooth. I did it on my phone at a restaurant. Not one issue.

" full allocation " Do you mean - your wife's and yours?

    That's what I'm doing...my wife isn't a fan of dark beer. FO X 2 for me!

    No, I doubt it.

I was referring to the FO blending event. Not about bottles

I was able to get a 5 p.m. time easy peasy. I wasn't sure what I was expecting in terms of choosing a session but it went pretty smoothly. But that was for a little under a thousand people so who knows if this will translate to future, more hyped releases like FO.

All hail Fundamental Observation. FO is the greatest beverage since our savior turned water into a white wine spritzer. Even my FO-generated belches are rated a 5.0.

Would this be a good time to state that, while that I think FO is a fine beverage, it is possibly the MOST over-hyped beer ever? Just thought I'd trow that out there. :stuck_out_tongue:
