Perhaps not, but not all 8000 people who received variants are reselling them (thankfully). Let's say 1 in 8 variant bottles gets resold, then all you need is 1000 people willing to shell out that price.

I would. Except for the problem of actually going through the trouble of actually doing it--so many different variables.

If it was right in front of me, yes.

But it's not, and I'm not in any way going to trust some thieving fuck or some assohole that went to DLD for the sole purpose of selling their variant. Especially on some website like Craig's List, Reddit, or, taking into account most reports I've heard, websites which are far more obscure than those.

Well, I can say that I actually had my bottle in my car and was nice enough to let the guy I sold my ticket to sit in the car a bit after waiting out in line & the rain for hours. Ends up he took it right as he left and I didn't even notice. He admitted to "taking" it and claims he'll ship it back. Want to give people the benefit of the doubt but I think I'm going to have to chalk this one up as a loss.

This is basically what I did until I went back to the hotel room. As soon as I got my 4 bottles and the variant, I pulled to the side (while still inside the brewery) and put all 5 in the back-pack. Yes, the staff was yelling all the time that we have leave and move along, but that's more of something they automatically yell. It's not like they will take your bottle away or literally throw you out. The worst thing they were going to do was keep yelling to leave the brewery. I just took my time and packed everything up before leaving.

I think going forward people just need to realize that there is a lot of thievery at this event. I can't imagine it getting any better with less stealing, especially with how valuable some of this beer is, monetarily, on the secondary market.

That is absolute horseshit. So, you do this guy a favor and sell him a ticket to DLD and he repays you by stealing from you? IF he doesn't send you that bottle back, you need to out him on here. At the very least to protect the rest of us from getting screwed over by him. You obviously know his name and have his cell phone number. Drunk or not, stealing isn't acceptable under any circumstance.

I'm hoping they put those 3Floyds logo mini snifters on sale at same point. But that's only hoping. They likely sold out of those at the event and I won't be seeing any on the website.

I wish I would have grabbed an additional set. I've been hearing there were only 250 sets made. I'll have to cellar my set for a bit.

Good thing I didn't order the Dark Matter snifters online when they went on sale. I received an ebay e-mail stating I won both Dark Matter sets I bid on. The thing is I don't remember bidding on them. I checked and it was just after DLD. That marks my first drunken online bidding.

They told me 245 sets...so yeah, pretty limited....and clearly the best of the 3 options that day. I was at the merch tent by like 10:05 and saw the sign for "snifters" and i was like "wait...what? more glassware? OK!"

This was the first year I didn't go for any glass whalez, coffee, merch or anything. It felt weird, but I definitely had the most fun I've had at a DLD.

I was hype because there was absolutely no way I was standing in the Dark Matter Line and had pretty much accepted the fact that I wouldn't have any cool glassware this year.

I agree. Waiting in lines for merch and glassware sucks. That's why this year was so cool. I just walked up to a booth, no line and no wait, and walked away with cool stuff including the glass whalez.

I got some fantastic shares in the dm line. I dont mind waiting in any line at DLD. I got some cool gold snifters and my wife got the coffee mug

I didn't have to wait in either line, which I wouldn't have minded, but we camped out the night before so I was one of the first 3-4 people through the south gate...so all of my shopping was done by 10:10...which was really nice.

I'd really like to think that people are better than that, but I've seen 2 FVM bottles posted on mbc by a user who happens to have the same snapchat username as this dude. Sounds like it's time to chalk this up as a loss.
Edit: next time I think I'll just eat the $200 for the extra ticket, only get one variant, then sell it and pay off both tickets.
