When are you going to be in PDX in June?

I have a considerable amount of shipping boxes, and really need to unload some of it. I'd be happy to let you have a box or two.

Be happy to, but maybe you could shoot me a message when you get into town, as I'm prone to forgetting things scheduled too far in the future. That being said, I'll definitely be in town the 20th and 24th, and so it would be no problem to meet up at some point.

    Talk to you later.

I've never had to go through official channels for shippers or other packaging, so I don't know where to recommend getting those things in Bend.

Seems like I've seen mentioned that U-Haul stores generally carry that stuff, but I'm not certain of that.

Rose City self storage is where I picked up 12 bottle shippers. 111 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR 97214
Then drive a mile or so to Fed Ex. Easy-Peazy!

Pretty much nailed it, though I would also add GoodLife Brewing has a great outdoor area that my kids enjoyed. Tried to go to Crux, but it was beyond crowded. (Crux would be the first choice though and it also has an outdoor lawn area.)

Maybe it's just something about me.

A friend from work wanted to get together for a beer, and suggested the apex. So I ordered a half glass of the bear republic IIIPA, which is listed on the board at $4 for a12 ounce glass. Damn if my 6 ounce glass wasn't $3.

Been here for over an hour now and my friend hasn't shown up either.

    Yeah... It's definitely me.

So looks like I'll be visiting from Spokane in a couple weeks for the Timbers vs Whitecaps game. I'll be with a crew of timbers fans from Spokane. Does anyone have any suggestions of places to go within a reasonable distance of Providence Park?

Can't believe no one has suggested Boneyard yet. Their IPA's have a crazy amount of hype right now (and it is very well earned. RPM is my favorite beer period)

That's because, their tasting room is an actual Tasting Room, not a bar/tap room. You go in, try the small samples, get your growler/crowler fills and book out. It's not a place where you pull up to the bar and hang out for a couple hours.

Yep. Fortunately, the tap selection is really, really good.

As much as it pains me to say it as an APEX fanboy, I do think there's variation. I don't know if it's the bartenders, the person they're serving, the song that's on, the lack of a standard, or whatever, but I think the prices I experience may sometimes differ from those of others. No rhyme or reason. A friend of mine once asked for a half pour of something & was denied. A few minutes later, I asked for a half pour of the same beer and got it for 1/2 the full price.

I dunno. I'm not going to stop going or recommending it. It's quirky.

No inside information other than that they won't be open in time for beer week at the end of the month. I don't even know how "branded" it will be as owned by Boneyard (pictured spraypaint notwithstanding...).

Long time lurker of this thread, it helped immensely last time I visited Portland for the Holiday Ale Fest. (Also great coffee recommendations in that thread)

I'm headed out in June for my sister's graduation, and was curious as to the best brewery/taproom to sit around and play cards with the family that will be in town is (Probably a Sunday night after the graduation)

Anyone recommend a bottle shop/liquor store around PDX?

There's a list of bottle shops on the first page of this thread, mixed in with notable beer bars.

As for liquor stores, you'll need to look for state-run liquor stores if you're actually looking for distilled spirits, and you won't find much beer there.
