What's PNC?...every tequila aged beer I have ever had I would describe as caustic and biting..my least favorite Cycle Release ever as well

Same here. I absolutely love that beer. I traded for a PNC after just bc I've heard great things about that one as well. Tequila BA Cake is one of my all time favorites as well.

 

Tequila barrels, when used properly are great. After Mercielago, I hope to never try another tequila/mezcal beer from CCB again.

 

The mezcal flavor was really light on this treatment. Really a hint of smoke, followed by a lot of chocolate and some chili. I feel like if you like Puppy's Breath it was a winner.

 

Also I agree Mercielago was terrible.

 

No one like el merc...

Except the one guy who wanted to argue about it for page after page of about what a great beer it is.

Tony Janus Pale Ale aged in Peaches and Jalapenos.

Just wanted to add that clarification before anyone (like me) got there hopes up that it was an Invasion treatment

Zesty McZestface Lager
• Lager with lime zest and cherries. $9/32oz, $16/64oz

Nuts and Nibs Brown Ale
• Maduro Brown Ale with hazelnuts and cacao nibs. $9/32oz, $16/64oz

Georgia Porch Party IPA
• Jai Alai IPA with peach and rum-soaked oak. $11/32oz, $20/64oz

Last Tango in Brussels Saison
• Saison No More Farmhouse Ale with mango and tequila-soaked oak. $11/32oz, $20/64oz

Russian Holiday Imperial Stout
• Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout with coconut and bourbon-soaked oak. $18/32oz, $34/64oz

Limit if 3 growlers per person. Limit 1 growler of each beer per person. Line is about 65 people right now. Handing out numbered "tickets" that you can fill out what growers you want.

I'll be checking this thread to read all of the butthurt comments that are bound to appear!

 

CCB Growler/Crowler Line always moves really quick so I'm sure the folks that show up today will have minimal wait times and The Zhukov will last well into the evening

 

Ugh I wish I was local, I love Zhukov, I can only imagine how good it is on coconut and bourbon soaked oak.

 

Line is moving pretty quick thanks to the tickets. Allowing them to start filling now. 4 people working just on the growler fills.

 

Anyone know if the Coconut Zhukov kicked yet?

 

I think people were stealing the Zhukov crowlers because when I went to pick my 3 crowlers up my Zhukov was missing but they made me another one. Or maybe they made a mistake idk they had them all on a table together.

 

Any update on what's left?

 

I have no idea how long the MZ lasted. I did hear some guys bitching about only getting 2 fills when they wanted 3. But there was never an official announcement that they were out of anything by the time we left at about 2.
The staff did a great job getting those things. Filled. As for how they tasted. We opened the Georgia Porch Party, was good but the Peach tasted kind of artificial. Not like the regular Peach white oak. But this was after getting up at 4am driving to Cycle, drinking RareDos at Cycle then drinking for a few hours at CCB and a long drive home (I did not physically drive). I am looking forward to opening the other Crowlers.

 

Had the Russian Holiday over the weekend thanks to the MAN @johnyb . If you have a crowler or growler and you dont drink it you are doing yourself a disservice. It is Fing Amazing. Coconut and coffee with a hint of barrel. I would bath in it.
