I had one a few weeks ago during my 2002 to 2012 vert. 2010 was drinking nice my favorites were 11',08',04. Still they all held very well and were delicious as always (except 02 was oxidized and 03 was terrible.)

Big foot. drink anywhere anytime they are always great.

Post results, I have one someone gave me that I can't decide when to crack! And my cellar/closet is really too warm for me to feel comfortable sitting on it for too long, even if Bigfoot may be one that would hold up.

How long does it take to notice a considerable difference on this beer? I aged 1 for a year once, and it was still pretty hop-forward.

If I remember correctly, its about 1-2 years til the hops start to die off. Then after about 10 years it starts to hit the smooth, port like stage. Its fun to try the 20 year vintages but i'm not sure I would go out of the way to age it that long.

Right now, 09 is drinking the best from my collection. Just my opinion.

I'll have an 08-12 vertical at Darkness Day, and I'm looking forward to that. I'll post the results.

I thought I would make my first post on something that is dear to my heart. An '08 Bigfoot back in the spring changed beer for me. Started cellaring some '12 the next day.

Drank one about 6 months ago and as I did the brewery's advice about drinking it relatively freshish kept ringing in my ears. No regrets mind, it was prettty fine. How was it?

I found 2010 to be a pretty weird batch when it was fresh. It almost had a "vintage" taste to begin with....

Sit on it for fifteen years and then pop it...you will be thrilled.

I had a 2010 about a week ago. Still surprisingly hop forward and tasting delicious. Personally, I'd like a little more age on it. I also had a 2007 which blew me away, hops had degraded quite a bit.

About to drink a 2000 later tonight. Still sitting on a few 2010 in the cellar that I'll hold for a while still.

Ok here it is, it was awesOme as f#%k! I like 2 years of age on this but will hunt down 00-09 to see how it changes.

It was actually a 99. Aroma was great. Lots of caramel and toffee. The flavor lacked though. Hops were pretty much gone as expected. There was a nice initial sweetness but it all faded out mid palate. Good, not great.

I have had great bottles of even older vintages though so maybe this bottle just didn't hold up as well as others.

I had a bottle of '10 a couple months ago and thought it was the worse that I've tasted of all Bigfoots I've tried. Almost DP-ed it. The hoppy bitterness did not balance well with the bitter astringency of the alcohol. From what I've gathered from others' experiences, Bigfoot generally goes through a weird, bad-tasting phase between 2-4 years of aging.

Please note: if you're a HopHead, then you might actually prefer the bittering imbalance.

I've tasted an '01 and an '03 last summer and they were both enlightening and fantastic (I preferred the 03 more). I'm now using 8 yrs. as a general guide on when to crack these open.

I'm not sure 100 years could make this beer drinkable.

I agree at 1-year still pretty hop forward. I noticed a nice change after 2-years, however, I like my Bigfoot with at least 3-years of aging. Of course aging is subjective...have fun with your experimentation!!
