Any BA's in the East Bay down for a share/tasting event?

I am in Walnut Creek right around the corner from the PH BART station.

I'd be totally down with something too. I'm in Danville. Could swing SF but EB would be preference. The big question is where would we meet? Never done a bottle share before do don't how to figure out the logistics of finding a place.

Pakwan on 16th St is BYOB, just order some Samosas or Naan every 15-20 minutes and you got your spot.

I'm only half kidding as I have def used their tables as a legal drinking spot to dodge all the opening bands up the street at the Elbo Room on more than one occasion...

I was just thinking it would be time to try this again. I could host but couldn't really comfortably fit more than 6 -8 people. Beer revolution could be an option if we could get their OK, though that would likely be best at an off time like Sunday afternoon or a weeknight

A number of years back, there were semi-regular (monthly?) tastings at Beer Revolution. I don't know if they're still interested in having that go on, plus it's a lot more crowded there these days than it was back then.

If you are brave enough to host internet strangers id say just go for it. Use a google spreadsheet like @reidjoshua does for his San Diego shares that has a waiting list after 8 slots. You don't want more than 8 people at a share anyways man... this is California not Chicago.

You'll also notice quickly that DC and San Diego time are complete opposites.

Host a share at 1PM in DC? They show up at 12:45/1PM.

In CA? They'll be there by 3PM and probably forget half their beers.

Hahaha I have noticed that! And actually @reidjoshua, your bottle shares back in VA were the first ones I ever went to!

I'll see what my schedule and roommate's sanity can afford, and then start a wait list from there. As for access, I'm about 2 blocks from the 12th St BART

I work a few blocks from Beer Rev, I can swing in at lunch and see what's up with a share. I've done shares there before. Super chill. Thursday eves used to work for them. And Sunday, at noon. Who knows now.

Does Alpine Bad Boy make it up to the Bay Area, in one form or another (keg or bottles)? If kegs don't make it up and somebody has an extra bottle, I'd love to make an IP trade next week.. Coming from DC.

No for bottles, this bottle run won't even hit distro anywhere since it was only 90 cases, brewed and bottled in Alpine.

Kegs are iffy. Since this one was a smaller batch I doubt much got kegged and if it did, it would be on at both Alpine locations, maybe ToroSD, Hamilton's and O'Brien's.
