Notable Releases - DC/NOVA/MD

My bad, I should have been more specific, looking for the FW Bretta Rose.

 

I'll be in DC tomorrow for some bottle shopping.

Can I please have some suggestions for good selections or shops to check out?

I'd be shocked if there were more than a handful of cases of Bretta Rose for DC, including both on and off-premise.

 

Just read Arrowine's beer email and they are selling Beer Camp for 29.99 per 12 pack. Just got back from my local Giant and they had a stack of them for $17.99.

 

That's because of Giant's buying power. They probably bought +100 cases. There is a significant price break on Sierra Nevada if a store is buying A LOT of it. Small bottle shops can't afford to buy that much because it will literally take up all their shelf space. Dominion is selling it for $28.99 btw.

 

The Beer Camp thread is 90% about the price.

 

Ha, is there a whole thread already about it? Sure I get bottle shops are going to be more expensive, but going from 18 to 29/30 is a pretty big jump. That's more than the usual $1-2 more per six pack.

 

Just read some of the Beer Camp thread, wow prices are all over the map. Giant could have mismarked the price, regardless if you want to get this 12 pack, check out the Falls Church Giant on Broad Street.

Yup, 5 pages and I bet most about price.

I keep it simple - if I don't think the beer is a good value I don't buy it. I don't see how complaining on Beer Advocate is going to make it any better. FWIW, I would buy this 12 pack.

 

Yea, it's possible they messed up the price. I just know that Sierra Nevada is one of the breweries that retailers can get a significant price break on when they buy large quantities. It's actually one of the few beers that is cheaper in MoCo than in NOVA. I wonder what the price is like at Downtown Crown?

 

I don't know the price at Downtown Crown..but I am listening to 9/14/1999 through the app that was released today...

Based on some of the reviews of Beer Camp, I think I'll be passing. Sounds like some good beers, but nothing that great. Just so many good options out there right now and one can only drink and spend so much.

 

Perfect Pour in MD just got in 4 different Grimm bottles. 3 sours n 1 stout

 

Would be nice if we start seeing more distro of Grimm!
