Thanks for posting. I know it sounds a bit random but I am anxious to try the SA Green Pale Ale.

Not random at all...I hunted it down tonight. German hops, with a west coast fruitiness. Very drinkable. What's throwing me for a loop is that I thought Bear Republic was pulling out of Texas. I saw some fresh bottles today and now they're on this list.

Funny you mention Bear Republic, HK. I noticed a fair amount of it at Spec's Smith Street last Friday night and asked Jose about it. We were both surprised. Either their distributor is dumping old product or they didn't pull out.

I definitely wouldn't rule out the first one. I believe most BR bottles are dated, IIRC. That should give you an idea of what the explanation is.

BR did not end up pulling out of Texas. I don't remember any of the details though. I'm sure someone that knows can chime in here.

I don't think they technically pulled out - their approvals were still valid and they didn't have to reapply. I just think they stopped distributing here for a bit.

Just my take, no real idea.

I think you're right. Per my Favorite Brands rep, the pullout was never really official. They just stopped sending beer for a while, a decision that was made easy by the fact that BR tend to sit on shelves for a while. He also said that they finally received a fresh shipment of Racer 5 and Mach 10 last week. I have a keg of the latter coming in tomorrow, and I'll be checking the date before it comes in the door.

This is what I assumed when I started seeing it again at local stores. I checked dates this evening when I went grocery shopping and they all pointed to that, but still not very fresh (e.g. Racer 10 with a best buy date of 7/2016; if they're still dating 6 months out for their IPAs, that's not great -- I think the Mach 10 was much more fresh).

Let me correct myself.... I said fresh, but I should have said new. I couldn't find dates either. There was tons of new Cafe Racer 15 and Mach X on Friday. Tonight all the Cafe Racer was gone.

Agreed. I'm surprised more breweries aren't trying to do this.
