    ManBearPat,
My name is Eli Kolodny and I am the Quality Control Manager here at Odell Brewing Company. It's great to hear that you are still in love with St. Lupulin, especially with the addition of cans. I am happy to report that our line is indeed a Cadillac. It runs over twice as fast as our bottle line and has about 20 years of technological advances on it. All of that speed and those gizmos mean that the dissolved oxygen content, which is an indicator of shelf life and overall beer quality, is half of what are bottle line produces. This means it will taste fresher for longer than our bottles. It took almost two years to go from the decision to package in cans, to running our first beer through it. I'm extremely excited to know that all those meetings, late nights, and little decisions culminated in a not only a tasty brew, but one you prefer over the bottle. We all thank you and wish you a very Lupulin-tastic weekend!
    Cheers,
    Eli

Really cool to hear. Its great when a company at the top of their game still has the drive to up it even more... The execution here was/is masterful and we, as a beer community, benefit immensely from industry leaders like Odell- Cheers!

Re Backcountry DIPA, I think the collective palate moved quite a bit too. This thread is certainly proof of that.

I remember having one winter before last and thinking, well I like it but it's quite a bit (for want of a better word) maltier and more subtly hopped than the current crop of IIPAs (and without the citrus and tropical fruit flavors currently prevalent). There may be a post on this thread from me to that effect.

That I haven't had one since around February or March 2015 wasn't because I didn't like it, necessarily, but as mentioned it's only sporadically available down here and I guess I haven't aggressively sought it out either.

Clearly losing Alan was a big loss.

Speaking of once great local IPAs that have fallen way off, I bought a 4-pack of the latest Elevation 7437 and it was really disappointing. That beer was fantastic the first few times I had, but both times I bought it in 12 oz bottles it wasn't good. It was pretty fresh too, under a month old when I bought it. I was very excited for that going year round in 4 packs.

No biggie Ryan I'll just drink it. Still taste great, I was just curious what and if others had noticed it also. When is hop scientist going to be back on tap??

Had several of the latest version of Project Alpha at Cannonball Creek yesterday. 8 is great. Maybe my favorite of the ones I've had (3 thru 6).

I was also at 105 West in Castle Rock on Friday. Nice place about 6 months old. They had Jelly The Elder DIPA, 10.5%, 138 IBU, that was good. Definitely worth stopping in if in the area. A hidden oasis in a strip mall next to an Arthur Murray Dance Studio.

Drinking NB Juicy Mandarina IPA meow from the teet..

Solid offering of a NE style IPA. It's no Juicy Bits, but I would definitely drink it again and certainly wouldn't shy away from recommending it... Looks very similar, but completely lacking that feel to it. Great citrus hop character with a soft bitterness. Really tasty even for a NB offering...

Currently enjoying the f*** out of the Equinox 6th anniversary IPA. Wow... Just wow!

They have a heavy 6 theme going here--- 6 different malts, 6 different yeasts, balanced by 6 different hops from 6 different countries!

If you people are in the neighborhood, stop in for this layered/complex, somehow equally balanced IPA.

Project Alpha #8 is delicious. I'll be going back for many growler fills.

Any idea if they're doing growler fills of the anniversary IPA?

How does it compare to 4? Also, any idea which hops are used?

I'm honestly not sure, but I go there frequently and have never heard of any sort of growler restrictions.
