Any ideas as to what this week's release will be? Any method to the madness on figuring out what gets released and when?

Going to have to disagree there. I love the carnitas and Brussel sprout tacos. The beef and broccoli one they had a few weeks ago was great too.

No idea, but my prediction is that it's something tried and true that they've done before. I get the feeling that Jean is somewhat of a narcissist, and since he's away, I don't think he'd want to miss a big(ger) or new release - i.e. Milkshakes, MagoTago, etc. I'd eat crow if I'm wrong, but that's just my gut feeling.

But in short, check their Instagram. Usually Wednesday releases, and they'll announce what it is the day prior.

Yea. I guess I am just impatient, haha - because I have to plan which days I want to leave work early and I would rather save em for bigger releases.

I was shocked when they still had cans of helles this Saturday. That was the most unpopular release... Might be a while before he cans another lager. Also a bunch of shambolic and Ourison bottles.

They really pump out those Ourison bottles, apparently.

It's funny how little respect lagers get. I had a buddy over recently and offered him a beer. I said I had a Tired Hands can and he got all excited. When I told him it was the Helles Lager he said what else do you have and went with a Union Jack instead. And he had never even had the lager before.

This beer had a very odd off flavor for me. I found it to be a decent, fairly generic IPA up until the finish when a weird, musty cave aged cheese rind flavor hit me. Ammonia? Whatever it was, not good.

Blue IPA was also as expected - a gimmick. Really enjoyed the snack stout I had though, something Vecchio.

I am not surprised by this story in the least. Lagers are simply not a desired beer type by beer geeks (e.g., the majority of the BA community); lagers just are not BIG & sexy enough for the beer geek crowd.

I had a pint of the Tired Hands Helles at TJ's Everyday a few weeks ago. I thought it was a very good beer!!

    Cheers!

You can also get great local examples of the style by Victory and Sly Fox at a much lower price point.

Yup and you can add Stoudts and Straub to that list as well.

Not like most BAs would care!

    Cheers!

Why is it a problem that a lot of people into beer don't care for lagers? I'm not a huge fan of them personally but it's great that other people are...

    Lager-hate is so real...

I liked the cans of Helles Other People. Different people have different tastes though so whatever. Tired Hands caters to a different crowd.

I love that Sly Fox Pilsner.

Never had it, but saw it was on draft a few months back. Worth the effort?

I'll be there - hopefully if there are only 180 cases, it isnt 1 case per. My guess is the trip to Europe dipped into last weeks amount..

What do you mean dipped into last weeks amount?

Am currently south of Philadelphia for Philadelphia for the week for work (Glassboro, NJ area). Earliest I could probably hit the road would be 4:45. Shortest route has me going through downtown so it is looking like the earliest I could arrive would be 5:45 or so. Hopefully the allocation is cut back a bit to give me a better shot.

I wish they would go back to releasing one of their "Standards" each week along with a new beer. The first couple months it seemed like most weeks they would release Hop Hands or Alien Church along with a new beer. I hate the thought of going through the hassle of getting cans just to get 1 beer but of course, I'll probably do it.

The 180 cases the had last week was on the higher end of how much they usually have. I know the last Pineal release had 220 but most releases have been between 140-180 cases.
