Hey Gang, I'll be spending the weekend of 5/14 in Nashville and looking for a few good recs for brewerys, brew pubs or just good bars to hit up. Cheers! Luke
Yazoo will be a shit show that day as they will have regular crowd and the funk fest going on. If you like sour beers, id go buy a ticket for that and skip the rest of places till sunday.
the other 3 breweries are open on sunday at least and all have something tasty to offer, my fave is Southern Grist.
On the strip you've got to hit Robert's Western World, and if you see a weird bus driving around playing loud music that's probably Interstellar Transmissions - hop on and have a little fun (always better with a few beers)! I also love Acme Feed & Seed for music, beer, and food.
If you go to Yazoo, you can walk over to Peg Leg Porker for the best BBQ in the city. They also have a nice beer list. Both are also close to downtown and other breweries (Jackalope, Tennessee Brew Works), but I also prefer the East Nashville breweries. Would add Smith and Lentz to that list.
I want to add to this thread that Southern Grist was great. I was blown away by their Mixed Greens IPA. It was a juicy, hazy IPA similar to Treehouse and Trillium. I left with 3 crowlers of it. It was legit. I highly recommend this spot to anyone in the area. Their beer pretzels with cheese were also amazing.
Yeah its right down the street from my house too. I have been there more than any other brewery in town (except Yazoo) and its only been open a couple months.
Yazoo early in the afternoon will be fairly friendly. 12th South Taproom is definitely family friendly. They have a nice list and fairly decent food. Black Abbey will also be fairly family friendly.
Southern Grist is family friendly - I've seen kids there before. It's also the best brewery in Nashville and well on its way to making a name for itself regionally. Their beers are seriously legit.
