So hit VE, and must say while they had a lot of bottles, there wasn't anything that was really eye opening for selection. They had a few Jackie Os options, and only one bottle of white rajah. Jumped over to chalet premiere and selection was a bit better plus a while boatload of rajah.

I'm looking for 2 tix to beers of the burgh today. I have plenty of beers to trade for them if you're into that. PM me if interested, thanks!

I'm going to Pittsburgh for a work conference in a couple of weeks. We will be staying at the Westin Conference Center. For at least one night, I am going to try to get a group together to go to a local brewery with a taproom or a beer garden with a focus on local beers. Don't mind taking a cab, so it does not have to be walking distance.

I was excited to see this thread. Less excited to see 300+pages through which to wade

Can anyone give a summary of where might be a good place to go for an evening that will let us get a good sampling of local beers?

If you're looking for a bar that has a bunch of local stuff on draft, Independent Brewing Company (a bar, not a brewery despite the name) in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of the city is likely your best bet.

    Breweries worth hitting:
    Voodoo in Homestead
    Brew Gentleman in Braddock
    Roundabout in Lawrenceville

Other bars with good draft lists that aren't local-centric:
    Pipers in the Southside
    Fat Heads in the Southside
    Harris Grill in Shadyside
The Beer Market in the North Shore (the closest to where you are staying I believe)

There are a bunch of others that other people can add as they aren't springing to mind at the moment.

I would say you can't go wrong with the brew gentleman, voodoo homestead combo. May be good timing on brew gentleman as they might have some anniversary stuff on tap still.

I'd either do brew gents & voodoo, or fat heads, pipers & Carson street deli.

Anyone know if there's any Juju kicking around anywhere? Someone requested it as part of a trade (he knows it's ~3 months old).

I'm my experience, the best place to find hidden gems that may be well past prime is Pitt's Doggin' It in Shadyside if you don't mind paying a premium. If a nice stout was just released and it sold out immediately, head there. Victory Java Cask was gone for weeks and I stumbled into 2 cases there. Expensive but on that rare occasion, it's worth it.

I have 1 bottle left that I probably won't drink. I'm not sure if 1 bottle will help out your situation, but consider it yours if you want it.

I have two tickets for the Pirates game this Thursday I can't use. May 19th 7pm Fireworks night. I tried contacting the Pirates to see if I could donate them but they didn't get back to me. Hoping that someone on here can use them. First person to respond to this can have them for free.

Just didn't want them to go to waste. I figured a fellow BA could enjoy them. I got a PM a couple minutes before your post. They technically didn't respond on the thread but first come first serve.

No Juju at Doggin It but definitely plenty of overpriced gems. BCBS ($15), KBS ($11), Java Cask ($18). They really try and sell you on their sale beers too which honestly more places should do. $8 for a 4 pack of breakfast stout and at least they can move some of the expired stuff.
