I have never had this beer...has anyone else. I vowed I was done doing TH can releases for a few weeks last week/until my beer fridges is emptied out...is this a beer worth breaking that vow over..?

I feel like their beers vary from batch to batch but reviews from when it was on tap a few months back are good but not at the level of stuff like AC and Punge.

Does anyone else find when you send TH stuff to beer friends that the general opinion is underwhelming. Even the high demand, hyped stuff like Milkshakes. Just sent a buddy some peach and blackberry and he said he like High Road the best (sent that too) out of all 3 I sent. Interesting when you see the stuff people offer up for TH stuff on their FB and Instagram. Wonder if most are disappointed?

I think this is going to be a high turnout release like the AC release last week was. Just a hunch...

I have definitely found this to be the case, at least with the more casual beer nerds. I'm talking about the people that love a good IPA, Stout, etc, not the completely obsessed like most of us are. People that have heard of Tired Hands, but might not really know what it represents in the craft beer world.

I think it just supports my theory that if you put anything in a Tired Hands, Tree House, [Insert small batch hard to get well regarded brewery here], it will taste better.

For what it's worth, I would agree that High Road is easily the best of those three. Don't get the milkshake stuff at all.

Ive had about a dead even split of people who enjoyed what they've recieved (Waiting for the Bloom, Punge, Pineal) and others be completely off put by the Tired Hands hype with (Milkshakes, High Road, St.Oner, ect.).

I'm generally underwhelmed and I've been to the last few releases

Likewise. I was blown away by Pineal for the first two days, and then it drastically fell off quickly IMO.

AC was the same as usual, which is good, but nothing mind blowing. And as I noted before, HopHands has been way off lately - it's to the point where I won't buy it again until I start reading some better reviews to see they've gotten it back on track.

I think the bolded is the biggest issue I've noticed. I know the shelf life of most IPAs is around 3 months and most people think that the New England style hazy IPAs should be consumed within a month or so but the Tired Hands cans seem to go downhill within a week, literally. I've drank some stuff like Heady and SoS and the taste is almost identical the day you buy it as it is a month later. Very slight differences but in no way is it going downhill. There was one time where Hop Hands was released like 2 weeks apart and I saw someone post a picture of a 2 week old can and a fresh one and they looked completely different and the poster basically said they were not the same beer. Tired Hands needs to get their quality control together and increase the life of their cans by a couple weeks if they want this frenzy to continue. For now it's the new shiny toy in town but people are quickly being turned off by their crazy prices, unorganized releases, hit or miss quality of product, and short shelf life. I usually buy cans and only drink a couple the first few days I have them before trading the rest off.

You would not know that based upon how quickly they sell out for their canned releases. I have seen zero evidence that the "exuberant enthusiasm" has diminished with respect to Tired Hands.

    Cheers!

I still think the Pineal cans are good and had one a couple days ago. Blackberry/Peach Milkshake fell off totally after less than a week though and turned into snowglobes. That was really lame, the Lychee and Passionfruit held up far better.

Frankly I think Tired Hands is just inconsistent. Combining inconsistency with cans that sell out within an hour is a bad combo (absolutely no way to tell if the cans are good before buying) and it'll lose them some good will. I'm still going along with it and buying less but eventually it'll be too much. Lychee/Passionfruit were great and if I could go back I'd have got the full allotment, then when Blackberry/Peach were released I felt burned by getting a full allotment. It's a shame but hopefully the sales slow and they shape up.

I don't know about y'all but those St.Oner cans did me right!

Cheers! I liked them a lot too. Traded some of the Milkshakes I'm complaining about for more St Oner.

Theres zero evidence? How about all the people who have been complaining on here, FB, and Instagram over the last couple months? How about the fact that when they first started canning they were selling out instantly and people missed out completely if they weren't in line by 4pm-4:30pm and just 5 months later half of the releases last until the following day and you can basically show up at 6-7pm for almost every release and walk out with your full allotment? I know it's a lager so they get no love but cans like the Helles last week lasted 4-5 days at the Ferm. That might not seem like a huge dip in enthusiasm but they've only been canning for a few months and the hype is dying down and it seems that more of the beer is being traded than actually consumed by locals. You look at somewhere like Tree House and they can release the same beers over and over and the lines are always there because you know what you're getting every single time. One of the main reasons that Tired Hands still sometimes sells out the same day is because they are still releasing new beers. Put Hop Hands and Alien Church up for sale every week, multiple times a week, and see how long people keep lining up.

Don't get me wrong, I still like the beer but I can't be the only one that sees the hype dying down a bit because of a wide range of complaints.

I am a newcomer to the can releases (only been going to the last 2 or 3). I leave work at 5, and have gotten there around 545. One time I didn't even have to wait in line. Another, I waited..10 minutes..tops. Seems to be a huge decrease from pre-lines and selling out quick..at least from what I've read on here. If my math is correct on a typical 160 case release at 16/per pack they are raking in about 15K a week on the cans alone. Even if it starts taking a couple days to sell out is that really a driving force for significant change yet? Probs not.

I was at Fermentaria last Wednesday evening (8:00 pm) and I was informed that they sold out by around 6:00 pm. Maybe there are some days where the canned beers last a bit longer? It still seems to me that there are still waaay more people wanting to buy the beers then the beers being produced.

    Cheers!
