Anyone hear any updates on what Hoof might be brewing up for the next month? Always like to see when I'll be heading back through and what might be available.

Tickets are moving slowly for the Sunday Marengo release, despite it being a dual release. Anyone else trying for WWS at the brewpub today? I won't make it until 4, but I'm hopeful there will be enough due to the reduced 2pp allotment.

Guess the Gose and other sour styles still aren't catching on in Ohio like some people seem to believe. With my recent experience, if these tickets were on sale for a Florida location it would probably sell out fairly quickly.

How does Rose compare to their Fruit Saxx gose? Loved that one.

I like Fruit Saxxx way more than Rose Gose. Rose also turned pretty quick... looked like a completely different beer after like a week and a half.

For those keeping track-- 32 cases left as of 4pm. Should be plenty this evening.

Allotment has been upped to 4 a person. Guess it paid in this case to go late

Where did you see that? As of their last Facebook update, it's still 2 per person.

I can confirm-- this was told in person upon checkout. Not listed on any social media.

These fucking guys lol. I swear, the next time they stick to something will be the first. Heaven forbid the beer not last through the night. Not that I'm pissed about it because I don't need any more, but it's funny that those of us that stood in line only got two and the people that complained at the Miracle Toast release (causing them to drop the limit for THIS release) can show up late and get double the amount. They are so quick to react to shit and constantly change their patterns to fit what is happening in the moment. I really just wish they would publish a plan, then grow a set, and stick with it rather than flip flop back and forth the whole time.

Now, fanboys, bring on the flame!

It needs to be said, there is Hoof Hearted, and there is Hoof Hearted Brewpub. They couldnt be more different in terms of their approach to business and experience dealing with beer releases and beer nerds. One is out to make money, the other likes to brew beer. Hopefully they can figure shit out.

Thing is, all the same people work at both--you can literally go to brunch before a release then head over to the brewery and see the same people show up right after or leave right before you arrive.

Opinions of the Wet when slippery? Good to drink now or sit on it a few weeks like i have to do most other hoof beers?

I'd say let it sit a few weeks to let some of the yeast bite die down. Nice flavor now though.

But how often do you see the brewers hanging out at the brewpub? Easily accessible bartenders arent the ones making the decisions that make the Brewpub suck. Ha

I can't complain because I was a beneficiary of their shenanigans. I don't think this would have sold out by 6pm had it been 4pp from the start. I went around 4pm to secure my initial allotment and later at 6:30pm to meet some friends and learned of the increase in allotment. A TON of cases were still stacked up at 4pm and maybe 20 cases at 6:30pm. Might still be some tomorrow at 3pm for those who are really dying for more.

The beer is very good. Similar to EWS Citra-- one of my all-time favorite HH brews. I'll wait ~2 weeks to open my next bottle to see it "temper" a bit.

Oh great it's another one of those. So glad I traded for one of these and a Miracle Toast (which I have heard is a turd). SMH I'm a moron.

I think that's just the thing to expect with a lot of their hoppy options. At least, it is for me. But I've found that waiting those few weeks and letting the yeast drop out does wonders. It takes away that burn and really allows the fruity flavors to pop through. And I'm not as concerned in doing it with their beers because they don't have the hop bite that causes most people to freak out about drinking fresh when it comes to that style anyways.

As for Miracle Toast, I wouldn't say you made a mistake in dealing for it. Does it meet the hype? No. But that was going to be incredibly tough to do anyways. I feel the same thing with Koffury. Everyone saw Hoof and JO's and about shit themselves. It's a solid beer, but not on the level that people placed it on before even having a sip. I think the cinnamon profile on MT is nice. Albeit, the beer is a little thin which the folks involved have said was a little bit of a letdown to them and they certainly want to tweak to upgrade that going forward. I personally would consider the perfect variation of that beer to be one that maintains the cinnamon flavor it has now, thickens up a bit, and has a more pronounced vanilla and maple syrup profile. Knowing the cost and amount of adjuncts needed to achieve that, I'm not surprised that it fell a little short this go around. I know the guys involved along with Hoof on the beer and have full faith that they will continue tinkering to make a version that fits their initial vision too. Simply put, drink it, enjoy it, but push the astronomical expectations out of your head before doing so.

Look at me bashing and defending Hoof all in the same 24 hours! I'd better go put my rose colored glasses on!

I still look forward to trying them. It may just be a matter of principle for me, but I just hate getting an IPA where, if I sit on it a few weeks, it will be better. I know other people feel differently, and that's cool.

It definitely defies conventional wisdom haha. I would be ecstatic if they would can one day, let those babies sit for a couple of weeks, and then sell them. We know that will never happen though.
