I'd bet some folks would be hesitant to sit on Rare Dos for long after the infection a few years back. I'd personally drink fresh.

Those were infected from the 16 oz growlers he sold. There have been no infection issues with any of his bottled beers.

That was four plus years ago...

Let me ask you, your saying that should never sit on a beer from a brewery that ever had an infection issue in the past?

Because that rules out most breweries.

These batches are in different barrels, different brewing equipment and brewed in an entirely different place than the batch that was infected half a decade ago.

Sip let's put this cycle rare dos infection issue to rest. It has been assessed several times.

Hahaha. Have yet to have a Cycle bottle with even the hint of infection. Are you coming down for the release from Ohio?

I usually drink most beers fresh unless it's lambic. I've had some good beers from Cycle but there's a sentiment from some folks to not sit on their stuff. Had an off bottle of &+ a few months ago. Didn't taste anything at all like it was described (and reviewed by others). It was bitter and harsh. None of the adjuncts came out. I felt bad for my buddy who traded for it. Off bottles happen. It definitely wasn't an infection. Not trying to knock Cycle here guys; relax. I like plenty of their beers. Hell I am trying to land Dos Brunch and Rare Scoop. Your precious trade value will still be high.

Well Rare Dos was infected in 2013. That is a fact. As stated above, though, those were growlers, not bottles. I should have been clear on that in my original post. And no, I am not coming down from Ohio.

It's not about trade value. It's about bad information that is passed around.

It must have been the only bad bottle. I've had it from bottles at last a dozen times with no variation.

Yes it was. Four years ago.

Again, different brewery, different equipment, different barrels, different packaging.

I might have missed this but Rare Scoop, i'm guessing bourbon barrel aged with strawberries, chocolate and vanilla?

I think that is more of a who did you get that bottle from issue instead of a what cycle put in the bottle issue.

So as long as the line was today before they opened... They got bottles at 4PP. Tomorrow there is a 1/3rd less TOTAL BOTTLES.... But only 1PP so you'll be able to buy 1/4 less the allotment. I expect everyone to be okay whether you show up at 7:45pm tonight or 7:45am tomorrow.

My ratio are a little skewed because not everyone bought all 4 bottles but that's how I'm basing my timing out. I will be there before opening, not hours before. We'll see how it goes I guess.

Also, if I may point out, you're the only one who brought up trade value and the infection issue.

You trying to effect the trade value? Maybe. Maybe not.

*affect. And no. I really do not care either way. A single comment from me is not going to stop guys who get Rare Scoop to ask for the world for it. Wow. Florida is easy to rile up. As was said somewhere else today, "Just like most Cycle beers, the hype will last about 2 weeks and fall off, just like their flavors do."

Rofl! Funny.... I can tell you numerous people on this site and locals I've shared cycle bottles with months after the release. Still delicious and flavorful.

These cycle beers suck, they are over hyped and infected. But I'm going to trade for them. Because they are delicious... I'm mean disgusting. Oh and you Florida people really jack up the trade value on these cycle bottles. They should easily go for Ohio shelf beer.

I prefer Rare Dos fresh. Just think it tastes better.
