I started to lose track of names when they came out with Mo' Citra and Citrasaic.

Yea I hear you. I think cellarmaker makes amazing beer, but i wish they would stop iterating so much and focus a bit more on refining their best recipes instead of just making new ones all the time. For instance, make more dobis, dobis plus, mt nelson, baby blammo, wicked juicy etc instead of making another hoppy beer that is fairly similar to others they have released and giving it a new name then never making it again. It is fun to have new beers come out all the time, but i think they should aim to always have several staple beers on at any given time and then maybe 1-2 experimental ones, not the majority being experimental. It seems like they blow through the turbid east coast juicy hop style beers like dobis the fastest so I wish they would make those available on a constant basis.

Strangely even though I don't like Nelson Sauvin that much, I really quite liked Mt Nelson, which is 100% Nelson. I skipped out on the bottles because I didn't think I would like it, but now regretting that decision.

    Agreed. I miss:
    -Highway to the Danker Zone
    -Dank Statement
    -Blammo
    -Southern Dobis
    -Any Dobis Beer
-Are you afraid of the Dank?

I would also love to see them do more versions of Coffee and Cigarettes. Like Hazelnut or Vanilla Bean. Maybe bring back some versions of Blammo too, like Bourbon Blammo.

If the Dobis beers were regularly on the board, I'd be happy as well. But to quote their website, "To us, making the same 3-4 beers all the time would be boring in many ways." So I suppose it will never happen.

There was mocha and cigs that one time. I once pitched the idea of doing a maple coffee and cigs. But I guess Connor forgot...

No flagship beers, I think that's one of the reasons that sets them apart from most breweries. You gotta get in there and get their beers asap or you miss it.

How many breweries can you walk into and find as many styles of beer as CM generally has on their board and all of them be good to great? That wouldn't be the case if they had flagship brews. I think they've done a good job of bringing back beers they've brewed in the past to make everyone happy.

I guess their Bourbon Barrel Vastness of Space kicked, since they no longer have it. I'm glad I got a glass during Tuesday's release. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Definitely in my top 2 BBAIS.

In my opinion it is the best beer brewed in SF. I drank KBS, Bourbon County, and BA Vastness in the span of a few hours and BA Vastness was the best, hands down. Kind of surprised that it lasted as long as it did. Sad to see it go.

No disagreement here. But that's like saying that Super Duper is better than McDonald's and 7-11. It's not even a comparison

The fact that Cellarmaker makes new beers all the time, all of which are good to world class, is what sets them apart and makes me such a fan of them. I love trying out the "new Cellarmaker" and get excited when an old favorite returns.

Southern Passion is a single hop IPA featuring Southern Passion hops (which are grown in South Africa…a region not popularly known for hop growing). Years ago we heard that Jeff Erway at La Cumbre Brewing in New Mexico (incredible brewery by the way if you’ve never heard of them) was using them and we were intrigued. New flavors? Hop growing region that is close to Southern Hemisphere known for tropical flavors? High alpha acid and oil content? Yep… sign us up. After much searching, wiring money across the globe, dealing with U.S. Customs and what felt like a million shipping/customs forms, we were able to secure some of these beautiful hops. This hop is unique in so many ways and certainly changes in flavor throughout the lifespan of any beer it is involved with.

Good luck finding another Southern Passion Single Hop IPA. We’re not sure if it even exists. Cheers to exploring new hop varieties and the hard working hop breeders and farmers who make all of these awesome flavors possible!

Date: Tuesday, June 7th at 2pm. (Date and time subject to change)

Price: $9 (includes tax + crv)

    Limit: 6

Is this one similar at all to j-17 or party ghost? Had those the other night and wasn't a fan of either, so I'm telling myself this must be similar so I'm not bummed I'm not making the trip to get some bottles.
