I guarantee you there will be at least one TV tuned to football at Belgian Fest, and plenty more in the brew pub area.

Of course beer > any sport, anyway

In the past, have any details emerged regarding what kinds of beers will be available? Or is it full on kid on christmas day type surprises? (Hanukkah, kwanzaa type surprises, as well)

Ive only been to last year's and I don't recall getting any info about the beers beforehand. I was pleasantly surprised by most of them though. There is more than enough to go around

Grohnke, I'll text you at 11:15 the entire list since I get in an hour early. Hahaha, but as with stout fest, goose usually doesn't let our it's secrets till Christmas morning, but the bartender said at the very least all three sisters will be on tap.

MBA elitist. We'll be there early too, but waiting outside, apparently :slight_frown:

Is that how it's going to work for Belgian Fest this year? I remember Stout Fest did the hour early thing last year, but this year they didn't.

I can no longer use my 2 tickets for this event. BM me if you are interested. They are Will Call tickets and it is very easy to change the names on Brown Paper Tickets. Face Value. Cheers!

I'm looking to get rid of one ticket if anyone wants to meet me up there. I should be there right at noon. Let me know. Thanks.

i don't know how i pulled it off, but i managed to taste every beer from every brewery. some really great stuff. highlight for me was laura, which was more or less bourbon barrel juliet. second place was probably destihl's saison.

Hey, think I met you on your way out, congrats on your relative coherence! I was pretty impressed with the Goose Island Tripel w/ Roses. Have never had such a flowery beer (this was NOT randallized per Laffler.) Also enjoyed the tameness of the brewpub's "Digestif" (bourbon barrel-aged dubbel w/ habaneros). Hamburger Mary's "Downton Abbey" (sarsaparilla single) had a nice vanilla flavor as it warmed up.

Laura was indeed excellent. I was also pleasantly surprised by the 5 Rabbit beer (a wit). Normally I am not a fan of the style but that one really hit the spot. I needed a lower alcohol beer to re-energize and that one was perfect. I also dug the GI wit but not as much

    Favorites:

    Digestif
    Agua Fresca
    Jasmine Juliet
Tripel w/ Roses (amazing, but 2oz is all I could have ever wanted)

Really wasn't bowled over by any of the other breweries, although Hamburger Mary's Sasparilla Single was nice. Was also un by Basil Sophie (not my thing) and Maude (total letdown)

haha, the one dude i talked to more than anyone else at the fest happens to be the one that posts right after me in the thread. the digestif was pretty good too, i was surprised that the habaneros were so well blended in, but after tasting bourbon county ancho last week i probably shouldn't have been.

least favourite was the basil bomb from half acre. i like basil, but that wasn't my thing. the basil sofie was more well balanced.

Digestif was great. Brux Matilda needs to be bottled. Jasmine Juliet was unreal. Tripel w rose pedals, a true delight. BA Amaro Amo exquisite. Half Acre Sunday in Saigon was a big win in my book (Sasion with Lemongrass and Thai Basil). Hamburger Mary's sasparilla was very good. Overall, i think goose was the most consistent. I was very surprised by Solemn Oaths Whisper Kisses, as everything I have had from these guys so far have been bland or over hopped. Whisper Kisses was great. Destihl, Haymarket had some decent offerings.
