I swear I'm not trolling again...but bottles or a receipt for what? For any bottle of regular/Prop? For just those on a certain date? For just those sold in a certain location? I'm curious to know what would be a realistic solution to those who have been affected (I still have yet to have an off regular, so I'm not in that camp).

And they do, by issuing consumer recalls. Those recalls are almost always limited to a specific batch or production run. In the case of BCBW and BCBCS, each had one production run. BCBS had plenty of production runs (bottling dates).

As I said above, I think we'll see a limited recall for either a certain bottling date or purchase location (Florida).

Yes, I think they should refund ant bottle, the same as every other industry (and even the larger breweries. I guarantee potentially spoiled Budweiser would get recalled faster than you can blink).

And I'm not just trying to pick on Goose Island. I think every brewery should stand behind their product. It's also our fault as consumers for continuing to support breweries who, intentionally or not, release contaminated products and do nothing about it.

So are Corona and Heineken going to start issuing refunds for all the skunky beer they've created over the years?

are you sure BCBW only had a single production run? i don't think that is correct.

It's not just Florida having issues. My Vermont purchased 10/21 bottle of regular BCBS was most decidedly sour and got even worse upon warming. Since I only bought 2 bottles, I wouldn't go for a refund anyway. However, I certainly won't be buying any more Goose Island products after this.

I went back and checked the old locked BCBW infection thread. It appears to have been bottled on October 28 and October 29. While not necessarily one production run, it was definitely a lot smaller than the Regular bottling runs over many days.

Most certainly not just a Florida issue. I have opened 6 bottles in the last month, all purchased in Minnesota, that were immediately obviously infected. The smell on each made me nervous, and after one drink of I had to pour them out. Also had the wife taste them to make sure it wasn't just me. She made the face you make when something tastes sour and terrible. All were bottle date of 04NOV15 with batch numbers 1328, 1449, 1052, 1436, 1010, 0926. After today's statement, I really hope they make this right.

After opening a bottle with the same time stamp has one I had enjoyed over Christmas, it was definitely sour. I sipped it over 1 hour, not sure if it was in my head, but it was sour for sure. The nose was not sour smelling, but the taste was. Not smooth at all. 06NOV15. This was kept at 38 degrees F

Opened three tonight, two were infected and one was good. All were purchased in DC at roughly the same time and stored in the same conditions.

    Infected: 12Oct15 1240 and 12Oct15 1342.

    Good: 09Oct15 1117.

After going to a BCBS tapping with Regal Rye, Prop, and Barleywine on draft (Amazing!), craved more, caved in and opened my regular after my coffee and barleywine were infected. Happy to report my 3rd bottle from my case is perfection! 5NOV15 1346 bottles.

Anyone that bought a defective product can get a refund seems to be a realistic solution. I find it utterly perplexing that people are willing to accept getting screwed by a brewery when they wouldn't take the same treatment from any other industry.

Drinking a 06OCT15 (14.3%) and it is pure bourbon fudge coconut vanilla goodness.

I have a case of 29SEP15 (13.7%) bottles from Texas, anyone have some wisdom on those?

Opened 22OCT15 1346 tonight, drinkable but finished off, more so as it warmed. A lot of the residual sweetness that balances this beer so well seems to be gone.

I've been watching this thread occasionally. Was not too worried about mine since i had Sept bottle dates and most of the bad ones seemed to have Oct dates.

I opened a 9/15/15 bottle Tuesday and felt it was starting to turn. Would not go so far to say infected unlike my silva stout the bcbs was still drinkable although not what I'm used to with bcbs. Smell was a bit off had a feel of excess carbonation was thin with a bit of a bitter taste.

For comparison purposes i opened a 9/22/15 bottle date. Think these were the 3 i got in CA vs 9/15 coming from my AZ shop. The 9/22 was much more of the bourbon fudge I'm accustomed to with bcbs. Much better mouthfeel and not as thin.

My bcbbw went bad after about 3 months prop was not great either. I don't have much expectation that the rest of my regular will hold out other than I'll try to drink my 9/15 bottles first and hope the 9/22 will hold out so i can do a 3 year vertical next year.

This kind of weak ass comment is exactly why Goose Island is not giving refunds for "infected" regular BCBS.

We are 8 months down the road from this beer being released, and it will not taste exactly the same as it did fresh.

Last year I did a vertical of 2012, 2013, and 2014. The 2012 was the clear winner. What do you think the 2015 will taste like in 2017?
