    Is a 1/6 bbl keg equal to 655oz? I just called them and they're selling 4oz pours for $8. That's about 160 pours @ $8 = $1,310. $2 per 1oz is a little steep, especially since the bottles are $1.36 per 1oz.

I know, I know...If you don't like it don't buy it (and I wont). I just think some of these beers are getting to be pretty expensive.

BA: Hello, let me get some of that Mozzarella, Feta, a little bit of Cheddar and some goat cheese, oh and whatever beers you have back there.
WF: Sorry we ran out of Pliny.
BA: Dang, Oh man I just remembered I'm allergic to cheese, later bro.

No lecture from me on this topic. It is truly a supply/demand issue. I was there most of the evening and enjoyed a lot of Pivo Pils and Booming Rollers.

News flash, for anyone who does not have a kegerator and/or who has never been in the beer industry... Bars *normally* sell beers for 3x to 4x wholesale price per unit volume. This is normal. People pay it. All day, e'ry day. It may sound crazy, but this is how the business works, for the most part.

This is why most modern breweries do whatever they can to recoup this "lost margin" by opening tasting rooms and/or brewpubs (and, to a lesser extent, why they start "private club" and "societies"), so they can sell as much beer as possible directly to the consumers at the "high" prices.

These margins may sound unfair or outrageous, but if you think beer margins are crazy, wait until you see *wine* margins...

I, for one, don't mind knowing, talking about, and thinking about increasing prices on berr, because to me it represents a maturation of the industry, where risk-takers and taste-makers like Modern Times can release "premium" products that could be seen to include some cost for "artistry" and sell for that higher price point. We still have shitloads more options than even 5 years ago for inexpensive beer that is readily available and quite tasty. But for some specialty products... You gotta pay to play.

Flip side though, most places treat this as a loss leader. Local Peasant's owner straight up was telling the folks I was with that he was shocked to hear the practices of the other spots where they used it as an excuse to get new faces in to the door as future customers. They'll make back the money on the kegs on the beer, but they value the exposure to give their place a boost in new customers.

Provisions and Out of the Park aren't new to this game and have had various other tap takeovers where they do the same thing of squeezing every last dollar out of you, which is probably why their names are in the mud a little already.

I picked up some 5/13 cans at the brewery yesterday so there is a fresher batch out in the wild.

Total wine in Tustin has 8 I love it!s in the walk-in cooler. I was surprised to see some out still.. I took six up to the register and they didn't have the barcode in the system. He wound up ringing them up for $6.99 each, a buck less than the brewery was charging. I used the coupon above to get 15% off. I went back and grabbed the other two, sorry! Behind these was the last 4 pack of BR, I think I jacked someone's stash.

Why the apology, are you really feeling guilty or just trying to gloat?

Also, I suppose Total Wine "had" 8?

Ha, why let us know that there's good beer at a store if you took all of it? I was in the area and stopped by looking for some; can confirm, all gone.

That would be funny if you were the gentleman that came in that I feel I slightly convinced to buy 2 4pks instead of the 1. If not, oh well, probably should have doubled what you bought anyways since that is the last we see of BR for this year.

It wasn't me, but wish I had room in my luggage to bring more back with me to the East Coast. Orderville is delicious by the way.
