Unibroue vs Ommegang

Reallllly tough choice. I'm a fan of both but think that Hennepin give the edge to ommegang.

 

ommegang got me into craft beer, i love everything theyve put out since then, easy vote for me

 

It's good the two are pretty much dead even in the poll. La Fin du Monde and Hennepin are classics. I also really like Three Philosophers.

 

This is the most even poll I have ever seen.

Regardless, I am a Tripel *****, so nothing holds a candle to La Fin Du Monde. I loved Tripel Perfection though, but La Fin is in a whole other league

Plus, I love nearly everything else Unibroue puts out. Even all of the lower rated offerings like Quelque Chose(which is amazing IMO); along with a few of the Blanch De Chambly variants (The currant one was tasty IMO). I still havent had Witte though. Then there is Hennepin which is easily one of the best Saisons I have had and in the leagues of Fantome's offering IMO. Its a difficult choice. But I would say that Unibroue wins, because I have had some middle of the road brews from Ommegang(Adoration was bit odd and unbalanced)

 

I agree. Art of Darkness and Seduction were just kind of whatever to me and I was really looking forward to Art of Darkness. These two are the reason I never tried Adoration. I feel like Unibroue is very consistent (though I have never tried Blanche or Ephemere) but I would have loved to give Quelque Chose a try. I never found it here in AZ or at the couple shops I've visited in CA.

 

Unibroue, hands down. Outside of Hennepin, I don't think I've had an Ommegang beer that really wowed me.

La Fin Du Monde
Trois Pistoles
Raftman
Blanche De Chambly (on tap, yes, in bottle, not so much)
Don De Dieu
Maudite

Every one of those were fantastic.

 

Don De Dieu is my favorite SBPA, so it's Unlbroue. Although Ommegang's BPA is quite nice.
