GDDC is a great beer, in my opinion, but yeah, there are so many good IPAs/DIPAs available nowadays that I can't see waiting in line for more than a few minutes to grab it. Even Beer Hates Astronauts, which is both my current favorite HA beer and my favorite citra beer (which is also my favorite hop), I can't see lining up very long for it. I can always pick up PW citra, Zombie Dust, PsuedoSue (I spend lots of time in Wisconsin), and a few other great local beers if I want to scratch my citra itch.

With that being said, while I think it's silly and a little frustrating that people line up for all their stuff, I'm really glad HA is getting such great support from locals.

More power to them if they want to wait. I'm hoping to go grab some later once the lines have died down - it's nice to know you can get some at one spot (and more than one bottle) without having to track when stores get it, since it did seem to go pretty quickly off shelves last year.

Stopped in at a good time for bottles. Arrived at 5:22 and on sidewalk at 5:56. More than half that time was inside as they only had one register going. Tap room has line out the door

I'm just looking for a growler fill... will probably head down there around 7:30-8.

I was in there just after 8 and they announced no more growler fills besides those of us inside. There was no line outside when I got there - just in the shop. Didn't take long to get through - got my half growler and 4 bottles pretty easily. I only planned on originally getting 2 bottles, but realized I like it a lot and my brother would also probably appreciate a bottle.

Drinking the growler now, and it's quite tasty.

Won't be able to make it up until tomorrow. Any chance growler fills last until then? I'm guessing bottles sold out already.

See my post above. There were plenty of bottles available still despite growlers being shut down. I counted about 30 cases out on the floor, plus whatever they had in the cooler...probably about 5-7 more cases in there?

Were they filling growlers again this morning? I wondered if they would, as I thought they did that once for another release (stopped on Friday night but then did them Saturday when opening).

I just cracked open my bottle of GDDC. I may be in the minority, I really enjoyed it, but does anyone else like the regular Double Daisy Cutter better? I just found it more enjoyable. Both great though.

I have had neither in a long time, but from what I remember, while I think I prefer GDDC (from an absolute taste perspective), I also find it...generic-tasting, for lack of a better word. It's a great beer, but it doesn't do that much to distinguish itself from the other galaxy-hopped beers out there. So in that sense I kind of prefer DDC, too.

I'm curious why they don't have DDC of some sort available closer to year-round. I've always been of the opinion that if you've got a great DIPA (or IPA, obviously), you should have it on tap as much as possible, as a standard.

I prefer GDDC to regular, but I can see the other side of it.

As a side note, I took a bottle of GDDC (and Special Sauce Batch #2) out to the Other Half release on Saturday and people went nuts for them both.

Torst in Brooklyn also had a sixtel of GDDC on Saturday and it kicked the same night.

Beer Hates Astronauts is indeed up 6/3 (per all HA's social media). Cannot. Wait.

Opened GDDC for the first time last night. I liked it but can't say I totally loved it. I preferred Double Daisy Cutter. Now, I think it might just be a thing where I don't love galaxy hops as much as most. I'm curious to try Treehouse Green as the ultimate test of that. Excited for BHA next Friday for sure
