There are a bunch of short reviews on Untappd. Short story, if you believe them, is yes, it lives up to the hype.

Had all 5 last night....generally agreed this was how they ranked..

    1)Heaven Hill(White)
    2)Brunch Dos(Green)
    3)Woodford Reserve(Blue)
    4)Wild Turkey(Red)
    5)Rare Scoop

Ironic twist of the week was the beer that caused the biggest shitshow of the week was a undrinkable sickly sweet mess that no one wanted to finish...Rare Scoop is nasty and there are going to be upset people who overpay or overtrade for this..everyone I talked too last night hated it

I'm right there with you man. I'm going to try to continue to enjoy myself and try to stop worrying about what others are doing. I'm never going to change anyone.

All people who will be trying to dump their bottles for maximum return undoubtedly...I talked to lots of people at Cycle last night and no one liked it

I'm opening my bottle tonight. Hoping I like it more, but we'll see. I had a taste of the wild turkey. It was fantastic. Drinking the DOS Brunch right now, and while good, I'm a bit underwhelmed.

Very likely. I'll check back in later tonight after I open my bottle.

I bet there are alot of people that didnt get bottles and will shit on it. Just look at all/most of the top rated stouts, they are all extremely overly sweet

It's Cycle meets 3 Sons with an ice cream flavored stout. Having had quite a few of both of their stouts, I knew I was signing up for an overly sweet brew when I got in line for it. I'm hoping I don't personally find it to be "sickly sweet" or an "undrinkable mess".

People complaining about a beer that's supposed to be sweet. This thread keeps getting better and better!

I appreciate the honest reviews even though they're just opinions. I hate homerism and people who try to inflate the "value" of their beer by creating false reviews. Not pointing the finger at Florida, it happens in every state with every limited release. It's refreshing to see honest criticism.

BTW, I'm not saying people who like it are lying, it's just nice when someone gives their honest opinion even if it's negative.

Funny, my personal friend who was at Cycle said it was really good, definitely reminiscient of BA Double Scoop from Huna Day. For the record, he got one bottle and won't be flipping it. Everyone's opinion is different.

For sure...I'm going to age my bottle for 6 months or so in hopes that maybe some of the strawberry sweetness/stickiness mellows out

This is a joke right? You're the first person I've heard or seen say "Scoop is nasty". Rating it the worst of the week is insane and laughable. If you hate strawberry I can maybe see why but this beer is fucking fantastic. Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry heaven.

Saying Scooop is nasty....is just ridiculous. Is it sweet...yes, but the flavors are terrific. I thought is was great. The idea was to make a huge, sweet stout and my friends thought it was totally successful. To each his own I guess....but nasty? Give me a break...that is a loaded opinion if I ever saw one.

I personally liked scoop from the draft I had on Friday. But I've also had double scoop by 3 sons previously and it's similar, so I knew what I was expecting. Didn't find it to be messy at all. Not sure it's world class and there are better beers out there, but I plan on drinking my 1 bottle with friends anyways.

Now that is how you post an opinion. No need to slam someone because they didn't like it like a few other people did

Popped my Scooop open..Very good mouthfeel as most cycle has. Nose is vanilla and strawberry with more and more barrel as it warms. Strawberry flavor is spot on strawberry ice cream. Flavor overall is almost exactly neopolitan ice cream blend with nice warmth from the barrel. I would expect when the reviews stabilize it will be around a 4.75/5 but I can see how those who discount adjunct heavy beers or are looking to shit on this will knock it for artificial strawberry. I find this less sweet than the angry chair dessert stouts for local reference.

So, just opened my bottle last night of Scooop. I was very impressed. My favorite of the 5 days. I went into it expecting sweet, and I was not disappointed. While not the best bourbon barrel stout I've every had, it certainly is the most unique. Definitely think it was worth waiting in line for. I can see how one would not like it, as it is most definitely a dessert beer. Again, just my opinion, but it was fantastic. To each their own, I guess.
