Agreed, but the crowlers definitely tend to take a while. I had to wait 15-20 mins and I was there around 11am before it got super crowded.

 

well I'll probably roll the dice and see how we do.

 

If anyone is around and wants to skip work I'll be visiting a few of the new NoVA breweries Wed, Jun 1 from about 1PM onward. We're planning on hitting the following:

(very small chance we hit Tin Cannon first)
Ocelot
Mustang Sally
Aslin
Caboose

Let us know if anyone wants to meet up for a beer. Looking forward to grabbing some bottles/crowlers from Ocelot/Aslin to bring back to SD.

It also looks like Sehkraft Brewing is finally serving their own beers. Opinions? Either eating here or Fireworks down the street after I fly in on Tues. Might just have to stop by Galaxy for some nostalgia as well.

 

I've not heard great things about Mustang Sally beer. Caboose is a cool space right off the W&OD bike path; haven't had their stuff, but I've gotten the impression the food is better than the beer. I'd be amazed if either of those was in the same class as Ocelot and Aslin, so if you have to choose, I'd put my efforts there. Plus they're relatively close to each other. You may be able to get Ocelot bottles as well as Aslin crowlers. Have fun.

 

If the weather is nice Sehkraft had a great patio and a fun place to drink, haven't had their brews yet but they have a very nice selection of beer. Their onsite butcher shop sells good meat to take home too and some bottles to go.

 

Does anyone know what Aslin is planning to release on Saturday? They mentioned on their IG account to check their FB page for release info. So, I figured I could ask my mom to check or BA. I'd rather ask you guys.

 

They haven't posted anything yet. Usually they make a Facebook event for each beer release, but there are none currently.

 

Haven't seen it confirmed, but Mind the Hop is currently planned for Saturday.

 

Does anyone know how to tell what Ocelot currently has on tap? The last tap list photo they posted on their Facebook page is nearly two weeks old.

The brewery is usually far out of the way for me, but it happens I will be in that general area tomorrow and would love to snag some bottles of Home.

 

They aren't the best at posting what is currently on. I usually use Untappd, but you have to rely on someone taking a pic of the board. Not the best, but there really isn't another way unless you e-mail/call them.

Ocelot brews pretty big batches so things usually stick around for a bit. Home was on draft last week, but they only had bottles of Tomorrow and Impression.

 

Dominion is getting a keg of Stellar Parallax and Small Town for growler fills. Free tasting tomorrow 5-7pm.

 

On their Facebook page, they said they were starting an "on demand bottling program," which I assumed meant they would bottle whatever they have around upon request. Is that not the case?

 

@JamLand I heard a rumor Aslin is releasing Mexican Hot Chocolate this Saturday. Not sure why they haven't posted on FB yet.

 

Not in my experience. I was in last Friday and when I asked what bottles were available, they said Impression and Tomorrow. I guess they could have filled them on demand, but they got them to me quickly enough that I assume they were already packaged and kept in a cooler.
