really? i thought Union did 32% markup across the board. They're charging $74/case?

Considering I gave out all but 2/2 to friends, you can fuck off. Not that I need to defend myself for buying beer, especially when I've been vocal about telling people in this thread about availability in every store I've found it.

Seriously - if you're willing to run around and grab beer at different places, more power to you. Grimm is delicious and I often try to get as much as I can. I'd much rather spend a few hours getting a fridge full of Grimm than standing in a miserable line at OH for hours to drink not-as-good beer.

I understand your perspective but we want to support the mom and pop bottle shops. I can't see us selling exclusively to whole foods and big companies. The reality is, the bottle shop business is a tough one to succeed in and we still value these shops even if they charge a little more.

Yep Forcefield was 73.99 a case, same with Tesseract. Not sure on Lambo/Afterimage.

I agree but shops that are marking up your product 300% and ripping off your loyal customers are really not in your best interest and dont' deserve your support. There are small mom and pop shops that are pricing it fairly and no reason why you can't give them more quantity and eliminate the pigs. Either way we all appreciate your feedback (and your beer)!!!!

Ditto in the Bronx. My local shop has approximately a case of the stuff as of this morning. $10.99 per, no limit.

I was thinking about this yesterday. 22 oz. bottles of IBB have been on the shelves for years at ~$15 per. Now they selling 4-packs of 16 oz. cans (total 64 oz. of beer) for ~$13.50 / $3.99 for a single can. As far as I'm concerned, that makes me much more likely to buy it, as I did last night. I'm a big fan of EMJ, but not the price. Now that I can get 3/4ths the amount of beer for 1/4ths of the price, I'm likely to buy it all the time. Just gotta put it into perspective.

I feel you. Union does cut off egregious price gaugers regularly. it's usually a thing where the store either reduces the price or takes a hiatus from stocking Grimm. Pricing should be taken in context with what their markup is on other beers. Certain stores have higher operating costs than other stores and have to charge more across the board.

@ericdavidmorris was right on the retailer pricing and I was wrong. Union has a 32% margin, not a 32% markup -- different math. Retailer price is $3.08/can.

I brought this up in one of the other threads... does it taste the same, im wondering if they changed the recipe to cut cost?

Oh yea that's a legit price for those cans. But he said it was a double IPA can, so $4.50 is a lot for those. I've also never had an ET IPA that remotely approaches anything made by Grimm anyway, so buying the Grimm would be a no brainer for me even given that price, unless I had cans from somewhere else already.
