I think that's coming in the future

 

That was my understanding too. I did get a bottle of Wicked Garden and My Virginia that way, but now seeing all the responses I am not sure if they were already bottled (to go).

 

They definitely bottled both of those. Is your bottle of My Sweet Virginia waxed? Do they both have custom labels? I'm guessing their on-demand bottles will have some kind of a generic label.

 

Yeah, My Sweet Virginia was waxed. The Wicked Garden had an old fashioned label that was a picture of inside Ocelot. By "old fashioned" I meant like a very old picture like quality.

ps-Now that I think about it, on two separate occasions I asked : "what do you have bottled?"
I purchased what was bottled.

 

On their Facebook page, they said they were starting on demand bottling last week. However, they haven't updated their page since 5/17, so maybe they hit some snags. I'm planning to stop by tomorrow afternoon, so I'll report back what I find out.

Just FYI, I think they should have enough to last Saturday and maybe Sunday. They brewed a 4-barrel batch, so 8 kegs. At least one of the kegs is going to MP on Tuesday. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't last the weekend. I'll prob head there around 3pm tomorrow.

 

Just to close the loop in this, by "on demand bottling program," they mean they have a few of their beers already in bottles, and if you demand one, they will sell it to you. That Facebook post was not exactly the model of clarity, but oh well. They still have some My Sweet Virginia and Impression bottles, if anyone's interested.

 

You mean like : "I demand satisfaction!"

 

That's slightly dosappointing but hopefully it will keep away some of the people who are just looking to pick up trade bait.

I'm noticing a curiously large difference between MHC Deceiver's ratings on here and on Untappd. Perhaps the small number of reviews here is contributing to that.

How does this current batch compare with prior batches?

 

I can't speak to previous batches of MHC Deceiver, but I found it to be too thin. However, I could see how a lot of people would really like it. I thought this batch of Mind the Hop was good, as usual. I also had the passion fruit/mango berliner which tasted like straight juice. You either like that flavor profile or you don't. I'd also say the berliner was more sour than a subtle tartness you typically get from a lot of great berliners. The RTC belgian wheat ale was my least favorite of the day.

 

It's thicker than the last version. Sat next to a guy that was hating on it, comparing it to Mexican Cake. I still would put it on par to the best of them.

 

Finally made the trip to Ocelot. Only had one beer there (Home) and brought back two growlers of Wicked Garden and Impression.
Home was delicious, fruit and hops still in my mouth

Def a fan now. Would recommend going, went on a Saturday afternoon and wasn't crowded or busy at all.

 

Home is great. Haven't had Impression but Wicked Garden is absolutely killer, and pretty unique with the Vic Secret hops. Lots of white grape juice. Just great.
