It's a sleeper. I was a skeptic but it's surprisingly good. Load up.

Sweet! after reading a few reviews I was starting to second guess my purchase. haha.

I bet it's a polarizing beer given the intensity and mixing of stronger flavors.

This could be very good or terrible. Not a huge fan of old chub so I don't think I'll be looking for this one.

it was good. The IPA element in the beer is very hidden. Tastes like a barrel aged scotch ale.

so my consensus from this weekend is I really liked this beer. There is plenty of alcohol there but I didn't find it to be overly so or too "hot" and boozy. Lots of barrel and malt character. The IPA character has clearly been subdued because of the chub addition and time in the barrels. Very nice and perfect to split with one or two folks. Very fun beer indeed.

I like Chub but didn't find that it really contributed a huge "Chub" flavor to the beer. It was kind of just a really nice malty barrel aged beer, with neither beer contributing an overwhelming flavor at all. It's almost like they brewed a brand new beer to put in the Buffalo trace barrels. I was pleasantly surprised like some others.

Is this only available at their tap rooms? Has anyone seen it in retail?

This beer is limited in Colorado but available in liquor stores. I've also seen barrel aged regular Gubna around, (also in the stovepipe can) so that's cool. not sure what other states have this yet, or which ones will get it.

Thanks for the info. I've got it followed on the various beer apps. If it pops up at some point, hopefully I'll know about it.

BeerMenus and Untappd. Likely more, but those are the two I use.
