Costco in Madison Heights and Roseville both have Ommegang Abbey Ale, Southern Tier Choklat, and Stone Arrogant Bastard/Double Bastard bombers.

That pack is bad ass. And I have even opened up the BBA Bigfoot yet.

For me, Costco is good for the larger version of Sierra Nevada Mix packs (say, Beer Camp) and Kirkland light (like 20 bones for a 48 pack). Not that I like the Kirkland light, but it's good for parties and light beer drinkers. Occasional, they'll have a bomber of something cool.

The SN High Altitude variety pack is at Illinois Costcos too. 29.99 for the 4pk. Beer Camp is there too but it's sold as a case for info.

The Barrel Aged Kirkland from last year is just starting to really hit its stride. Not as hot as when it came out. It really mellowed out with a year on it. :grinning:

Yes, you can buy beer at costco without a membership.
No, costco does not have a single employee that is aware of the rule.
Yes, you will spend 30 minutes explaining the rule to 6 different employees to enter the store and purchase the beer.
No, it is not worth the headache, pay the $55 membership or try elsewhere.

Madison Costco is pretty decent. Has maybe 30-40 different bombers(New Glarus, Stone, Alesmith, and locals), and maybe 5-10 multipacks (New Glarus, Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, Lakefront etc.).

I tried to use the "I'm only here to buy beer" line on the greeter so I wouldn't have to take my wallet out. I was told that I would have to wait for her to get a manager to walk me to the beer and then straight to the register. Wow! A perp walk for beer. I'll stick with showing the membership card.

My Costco, in Michigan, has a giant sign at the front door stating the fact that you do not need a membership to buy alcohol or prescription drugs there.

Odd I never show them my membership walking in and they have never said a word to me.....
