New month, new monthly Grimm thread.

For info directly from their website
    http://grimmales.com/

Grimm beers are usually in high demand (especially the cans). Cans have been limited to low counts per person. Grimm Artisanal Ales supply their beers at low prices to the distributor, who supply the retail shops, and therefore are not responsible for the final price you may encounter. They try to support the "Mom and Pop" shops that sell their beer. Hopefully, we all should support these small shops.

The latest fitness craze has been the checking of this thread and Beermenus for their cans/bottles and running around town trying to get them before inventory is sold out. Needed exercise for some of our fellow beer enthusiasts. :grinning: If you miss out, you can usually find their beer on tap.

Post away and yes, Joe and Lauren (the Grimm's) monitor this thread and are great about responding to your questions and comments. Especially, if you tag them @Grimm_Artisanal_Ales

The beautiful Grimm artwork on their labels is designed by Lauren, about 50% from scratch and about 50% using Gretta Johnson's (their longtime friend) artwork. Check out http://grettajohnson.com/ for more about this incredible artist.

Solid and informative monthly post, bravo! Drinking a can of forcefield and getting straight strawberry and cantaloupe.

whats on tap for this month? Hopefully some dry hopped sours and I wouldn't mind seeing some different styles.

Pretty new to BeerAdvocate and this thread, started in May, appreciate the initial well written start as above and the general good will most of the time in May. Maybe my palate more dull but I got much less out of the single IPAs than the DIPAs earlier in the year; that being said I enjoyed them all in different ways and look forward to the next batches. Had a Lambo last week from the Feb release and I believe it is starting to taste different than it did early..

Cloudbusting is still my favorite Grimm beer. But, its a rotating hop bill so who knows if the next iteration will be as good.

I'm probably in the minority that liked the first batch of cloud busting more, I didn't really like the white wine flavor in it but I also don't like white wine. Cloud busting second batch was interesting, I tasted it about 6 different times from cans and draft, the cans changed into in the first three weeks after that the white wine flavor went away , then I tried it on draft two weeks after that and found the white wine flavor was still present.

Forcefield was straight strawberry cream for me. Was nice, not my favorite offering but was pleasantly surprised after the mixed reviews. No butter notes for me.

I really enjoyed Dream Weapon. Maybe I really like El Dorado, but I thought it was super solid.

Cloudbusting was the best and most unique Grimm DIPA IMO. Coincidentally, it's the only Grimm DIPA I got more than 2 cans of. I could drink that beer every day all year long if it was produced in that respect.

    New Month New Thread!

A couple of heavy hitting single IPA's!
Lumen: Citra, Mosaic, El Dorado, Equinox
Magnetic Compass: Rakau, Citra, Mosaic, Columbus

Plus batch two of Rainbow Dome, dry hopped apricot sour crusher, Falconer's Flight, El Dorado, Mosaic

Cloudbusting #3 is slated for not this month but next, and will feature Rakau, Kohatu, and Wakatu.

We think so too, we are doing a sequel called Boysen Rebus that's essentially the same beer but with boysenberries in place of raspberries.

Should we expect the first IPA of the month to drop next week or the week after? I'm assuming same deal as last month where the 2nd follows the first by a week.

Rainbow Dome! Best beer Grimm has made to date, IMO.

Future Perfect and Psychokinesis are available from The Wine & Cheese Place in MO. Excellent retailer. Shipping costs are pretty good (about $3.50/bottle) as long as you order a decent number of bottles, and it doesn't even have to be in multiples of 6 like many places. Only bad thing is it might be getting kind of warm to ship beer safely, even with 2-day ground service to the east coast.

What happens to the beer when you ship them in this temperature?

I dont know why @devoured_by_vermin is so concerned about beer being warm for a few days. Chances are it wont effect the beer.

I actually agree with you, generally speaking. It's not like the beer is going to be sitting in a truck in the middle of the Sonoran Desert for a week in July. That being said, TW&CP and many other retailers caution against shipping during warmer periods. This is from their Shipping Info page:

"Due to the heat during the summer months, we strongly advise customers not to have their wines shipped until the weather cools in their area. Customers placing orders during this time will be contacted regarding their shipping options. We will store orders until cooler weather prevails. If you elect to ship during this time, we will not be liable for heat damaged, raised corks or leaking beer or wine."
