I've yet to do a shake release. I'd hate to think I'd get over there at 5:15, which is the soonest I can, and find out an hour later that 480 people were already ahead of me and cleaned it out. Decisions decisions...

yes. yes you could have. i made all the same points last thread, and there were the typical passive aggressive statements about not complaining. we'll be arguing in circles. i not going to pretend that their beer releases are enjoyable experiences, realized i didn't have to put up with it, and decided to leave the line altogether last time. still got my beer at the end of the night.

Then I'm not sure why they even do it for bottles?

It's pretty simple, give out tickets and you stop the squatters with the chairs. I know they tried it before, blah, blah, blah. Makes you wonder if you should drink their beer or put anything in your mouth that the place makes if the mental midgets there can't figure out a ticket system.

Hand out tickets at opening and keep giving them out until you run out. Stamp people's hand so they can't go back and get additional tickets. Sell beer at announced time for x hours. After that sell to people with or without tickets if supply is not kicked.

How hard is this really? Face facts, they want the bullshit that happens every week. Hype sells.

i wonder what they meant about 'expecting' 160 cases.

I'm not complaining about the line. Doesn't bother me, because I will get there when i get there, and I may not have to wait at all

No tickets drives up the hype and line, and thus the conversation. Everyone loves to be loved. haha

It probably means they weren't done canning when they said that.

They tried tickets (wristbands) for only void and it was a failure. Almost 300 people there by 4. A lot of people didn't get the full allotment, so it ended up lasting till later in the night, but all it did was move up the time for people getting there. This current system isn't perfect, but works alright.

I'd like to roll in about 6 and get some cans but what's to prevent folks from getting back in line after getting their initial allotments?

and how many people does each of the chairs already in line hold a spot for?

yeah, i figured that. after reviewing other posts of theirs, and answering my question from before, they seem to literally can the same day a lot of the time, which explains the late allotment announcements. interesting.

When did they post this picture? It doesn't seem to be from today.

They are just relying on the people selling the beer to recognize the customers. I have seen people try to get back in line and be turned away when they get back to the front and the guy working there knew he just sold him cans.

Chairs hold as many people as the neighbors will allow. Until a fight breaks out I assume the chair capacity will keep increasing.

yeah but... in theory isn't the ticket the allotment, you're reserved? if people decided to still wait / line up, that's an odd choice, but theirs to make. so, if i come in when they open and buy a ticket, the expectation is that i can come back to get my cans later. if you're announcing releases and waiting to can the day-of, that's a problem in itself if you don't know the yield and would make ticketing ineffective.
i did not go to that release, and i'm guessing there was only a holdup since they didn't announce they would ticket. must have worked to some degree, since it looks like many people commented that there was 'virtually no line' and 'plenty of beer'. probably had a lot to do with the allotment as well, but no comments about a crazy line.

The OV/Waiting for the Bloom line kind of failed because so many people assumed that everyone would buy a full allotment. After wristbands were gone people gave up and went home rather than wait to purchase.

I rolled up later that night and bought them with no line so frankly I liked it.

the lower limits have helped exceedingly. numbers in the 400+ (people per allotment) seem to ensure that the beers last the night. i predict jester king tomorrow.
i'm getting sick of typing the word 'allotment'

The wristband guaranteed full allotment until 7. So if you didn't get a wristband you could wait until 7 and see if they still had any to sell. It worked well for people that got there late, but not if ou just missed a wristband. It was brutally cold that day, so they really did try to make it more efficient so people didn't have to freeze for hours outside.

Wow, thats absolutely ridiculous. If I need some extra chairs for a camping trip this weekend I know where to go.
