Damn, I wish I had come up for it now. I was thinking it would be crazy crowded.

I thought the radishes would have brought the crowd out.

I was nervous about the crowds too, but almost felt like a regular weekend day with a killer tap list. Super well run and none of the shenanigans of the recent can releases....

Cheers, I feel the same way. I really enjoyed St Fourer. St Oner was good too but this is more balanced and the kumquats don't overpower beer like lemon or lime did.

Did they fill growlers of the papaya milkshake?

I don't believe so. But they may do fills later tonight if it is still on. Give them a call and ask.

I am drinking a HopHands that was canned on 05/25/16 and it has perceptible diacetyl (buttery flavor); disappointing.:slight_frown:

    Cheers!

 I think it's unanimous at this point that there is something wrong with HopHands. On the brighter side they're improving Milkshakes.

I had a HopHands recently on draft at a local bar in central PA and thought it was fine. But I was never Ga Ga over HopHands either.

Definitely haven't tasted anything wrong with hop hands. I got a 4 pack last week. Crushed them on Sunday at a bbq. Tasted great. Certainly no diacetyl in my 4 pack.

Did anybody else find this round's milkshake and dystopian forest to be very similar.....? (Both great btw)

Not at all IMO. The Kalamansi Milkshake wasn't like any IPA I've ever tasted. Dystopian has more of the classic grassy IPA flavor. I didn't get any similarity at all, other than appearance.

I agree with you @jojo2112. The milkshake was way different than Dystopian Forest.

It was nice meeting you as well, Nick! What an absolutely AWESOME event. I got there at 2pm and everything was still on. Everyone was trying hard to kick ParaInfite 2 so we can get WoodlaHands on. That happened at around 4pm, I believe, which was the first of any beer that kicked. Loved the St.Fourer (unlike the St.Threer).

No, they only did growlers of HopHands, SaisonHands, and St.Fourer. FWIW, the Papaya MS was the weakest of all the MS. It was basically MS without any fruit at all. Papaya doesn't have much of a flavor to begin with so it was no surprises there (I grew up in Asia).

They are drastically different. I wonder if your cans got the labels mixed up somehow.

Had the pleasure of meeting some great people at the Milkshake release.

This milkshake is my favorite one to date (having tried Peach and Passionfruit previously).

I love Dystopian Forest as well. Great can release.

Bummed I couldn't make the Brewcafe anniversary but you can't make them all.

Just wanted to apologize if anything I posted earlier today was against the rules. I asked some generic questions about trading for Tired Hands cans with regards to certain NE breweries.

Don't want to derail the thread anymore, but I do look forward to visiting Tired Hands on 6/18. Hopefully there are some great things on tap and it isn't too packed around 2PM on a Saturday!

Had a Kalamansi Milkshake last night, and I seriously do not understand the hype and craze over the milkshake series. It was way too sweet and I could barely finish it. Couldn't imagine drinking more than one of them.

Call me crazy, but give me an old fashioned IPA or PA any day of the week over one of the milkshakes.

They both have their places. I got a full allotment of the Peach/BBerry and still have a 4pack of each. They age well too. But I definitely drink a dozen IPA for each Milkshake-style beer.

Yeah somehow they age well, I didn't expect that. Had one of my last Passionfruit cans last night and it was really good. I'd even say I liked it better than when fresh. It reminded me a lot of Shilkmake, which I also had a few months after bottling and I think the vanilla stood out more.

If Calamansi Milkshake does the same thing it'll transform fully into a Creamsicle.

Not expecting a beer called "Milkshake" to be sweet, overly or otherwise, is like not expecting a stout to be dark . It's a treat/dessert beer just like when you were growing up (well, when I was growing up) and your parents take you to a diner for a shake. In the case of Calamansi, it's like snacking on an orange creamsicle. There's a time and place for this beer and it's a damn good one for what it is.
