Yeah I love the BD too, but I am excited to see SGE in cans finally.

So pumped for Small Green cans! One of my favorite sessions, right up there with Boat. I may need at least a half case because I know this weather is gonna cause me to go through those cans quick.
Edit: Would also love to know if there are any Grits n' Greens cans left, planning on heading there tomorrow regardless.

I just opened my first No Lay Ups and it's damn delicious. I mean this in the best way possible that it doesn't taste like a typical OH beer. Something like All Dank smelled and tasted like an OH beer from a mile away but this didn't have that "hot hops" flavor and was easy drinking for an 8% abv DIPA.

Disappointing, but not for the reasons you've described! I had thought I'd be able to skip this one, but having missed the last several GD releases (seriously, every time I'm out of town, GD drops) I need to get my GD fix.

Fortunately, it sounds like I don't have to be there early.

On an unrelated note, current batch of All Citra Everything is tasting amazing. So good.

So...Telectroscopic is fantastic and loving that I got it. I posted in WBAYDN but just smells of pineapple juice, tastes like a passion fruit cocktail with just the perfect amount of bitterness at the finish. Damn good.

Planning to bring people for a bachelor party, 20 heads, to Other Half this Saturday.

Is the other room/brewery space open these days? I went there a few months ago and it was just the regular tap room, which wouldn't fit 20.

No offense, but seems like the best thing to do is get in touch with them outside BA. Get that space reserved and tick brews yo

Agree - had this tonight and was pleasantly surprised. Maybe it's because I've been in France for a month and have hardly had any American IPAs, but I thought it was great. Much more to my liking than most OH beers.

You've just grown into being a hater!

Let me know if you need to try any other recent release cans. ADE was unlike anything they've done and No Layups is drinking goooods, and should continue to!

Haha, perhaps. I admittedly burnt out on OH releases - everything started to taste the same to me, and not in a good way. I couldn't justify the wait anymore after All Citra, which was really underwhelming for me. Didn't help that I had a fridge full of Trillium.

In any case, it seems that the time away might have done some good. My return to the city is likely short-lived, however, so I'm going to avoid stocking up on any cans for the time being. I'll try to find some of the more recent OH releases on tap around town while I can though.

oooooh, I'm sorry it's so hard to drink other half in between Trillium butt chugs :stuck_out_tongue:. Though, I feel like most of their beers have a particularly sweet malty note (maybe all that golden promise!) and a particularly abrasive rather than gentle hoppy note.

FWIW, I think Trillium makes the best IPAs in all of the land, but without riding a train to Boston, I'm more than happy to drink OH offerings.

Usually on Saturdays they do open the brewery side.

Green Diamonds is one of my favorite DIPA from any brewery. See ya next week folks.

+1 for giving them a heads up beforehand. maybe they'd even hook you up by letting you chill in the brewery side and hanging a "private party" sign on the door. that'd be pretty sweet. i love signs.

I don't think they taste the same as much as OH beers have a signature flavor that separates them from other breweries. I do agree wholeheartedly that All Citra was nothing special unless you're in a committed relationship with Citra hops.

Does anyone know what kind of yeast strain other half uses

Oh for sure I agree. They don't all taste the same, it had just gotten to the point where most of them I tried were good but none of them were really unique or rose above. The last one I've had that did that for me was 2nd Anniversary. Next time around on the weekend of a release, which is incredibly hard to predict at this point, I'll definitely try to stop by and grab whatever they can.

I feel like No Layups is the most comparable beer to 2nd Anniversary. Lower ABV, but tastes very similar.

Shame I missed it. Anyone know if it's going to pop up around the city on tap? If not I might have to swing by OH and get a growler.
