Drank an SS CREAM recently and didn't experience much of any drop off. I have 3 AOE left in hopes it would be less hot. I tend to enjoy the big triple ipas more with a few months on them.

Still tasting great. Drink 'em up.
I remember @augiecarton mentioning that he was putting some away to see what happens in 6 months or a year.

I drank a couple Wednesday night. I thought it was still great. The hops were still there and (could be my imagination) a bit creamier.

I had one recently and thought it got better. People have saved AGE for up to 4 or 5 months.

My experience with AGE is that it definitely gets much maltier over time and the hops fade. I mean, that's almost undeniable - aroma hops have a short shelf life. Whether or not you like AGE (or AOE) more with some age on it is another thing. I'm all for seeing how one of these tastes in another month or 2. I just know I'll probably end up with more than one. Unless I'm sharing, seeing that 10.5% ABV on the can is a deterrent from grabbing one when I open the fridge.

Great beer but for my consumption habits, I only need it in limited quantities.

Yup, I have 2 AGE cans left dated 5/6/16 (35 days old) and I'm in no hurry to drink those. Thinking about waiting for them to be 2-3 months before cracking them.

You have seven cans remaining nearly two months after it was released. Why did you buy such a large quantity of a 10% beer knowing your own consumption habits can't handle it?

2 different friends were being nice and picked up for me. Each got me 2 4-packs.

    Easy now.
I don't think any of us want to get judged too closely on our beer buying

Haha not me, but I agree with him in wondering why a 10.5% ABV is a deterrent if you like DIPAs. Having too big a variety and two months go by without finishing a four pack? Yes, that I buy.

It's only a deterrent because I have dozens of options to choose from and on a given night I like to try 2-4 beers. So, it's either that or one 10.5% pint and call it a night.

I get it. I too go through the the agony of only being able to choose a few among the many but I can mix the 10+% in with a couple others. Just gotta pace yourself!

I have the same issue as inkman. Still have 1 can of AOE beside the 2 I'm aging. If I go for the AOE on a weeknight I'm one and done and usually I like to have several beers.

This thread has inspired me to drink that can tonight, though.

Because of this I'm sitting here trying to figure out what beers to have tonight based on canning dates and the variety I have. I guess it's not a bad problem to have.....

I know I'll have my last can of Grimm Tesseract. I couldn't let it go but I have to say goodbye!

Maybe I'll have some S.S. Cream as well.....

I didn't judge one iota. He wrote that his consumption habits don't support drinking a 10% beer too often and earlier he wrote that he "overbought" on All Orange Everything. I asked why the latter existed based on the former. He answered. It was a simple question and answer exchange, without judgment.

I get that reading on a computer isn't great for context but humans in 2016 need to stop bringing a mindset that everything written here is done so in a cynical and defensive manner that needs to be attacked with snarky non sequiturs.

Wasn't being snarky. I just take everything with a grain of salt.

Speaking of aging beer, I just had the final third of a 07747 that had been sitting open in my fridge (wife couldn't finish). Still tasted great. Hops >> carbonation

I thought Sammyjaxxxx was just being funny. I think what we can all agree about is that there are too many tasty local beers being released too fast and furiously for us to keep up with! Oh, the humanity!!

Just finishing up a can of AOE. Lost some of the hoppiness but man it's still a good beer. Booze mellowed a bit as expected and the citrus zest it had when first canned still exists. It kind of clings to your mouth. Can't wait to see what a few more months does to this beer.
