Yeah my buddy stopped hybrid after I posted and they said no growler fills. Seeing some filled on Instagram so maybe it was just earlier in the day

I'd have to disagree to this ^^. Monkish was one of the first to put its mark in the LA area. They had a solid core of people who loved their style of beers. Not me. Went one time before all this east meets west dank IPA's they have been putting out. Since the collab with OH they have a whole new core of people waiting for the next can release. Henry aint stupid. Thats why he is one CA top brewers. I think Monkish has doubled, if not tripled their customers with all this hysteria. These are some solid hazy beers...but I still think west is the best.

Blip on the radar? Monkish has been one of the best breweries in L.A. for a few years now. I guess only ipas are what matters.

Nah, Monkish definitely was a blip on the radar. For the longest time they were making Belgian style beers with weird adjuncts that most of us don't care about.

They didn't really pick up steam until they got their tart/fruited saisons going.

    Maybe so....
but on my last 2 recent trips to Chicago I had 4 request from different individuals asking about Monkish bottles. This was before the IPA collab with OH. So there were ppl out there that was interested in Monk beers.

I noticed this thread has blown up since April 1. From page 3 to page 29 in 2 1/2 months. Like OH's thread. Most of it related to line cutting and drinking in the am......

Yeah, once they started tweaking that spontaneous fermentation game, they have been back on the map. Prior to that folks would hit up smog city as the priority spot to go to.

They haven't released any of their spontaneous stuff.

Days of Underoos was great. I think Monkish is getting better every release, but Spock It might still be my favorite.
Going to try Blazing Arrow tonight - how is it compared to Sticky Green?

For their double ipas, I think foggy window > blazing arrow > sticky green

They aren't doing any spontaneous stuff. Not sure where that came from. Their "wild" stuff is mixed fermentation.

I thought the line yesterday seemed a lot more tame than last week. Almost everyone who waited got cans. Most people seemed pleased and happy about it.

Most of you just like to complain. Yeah it sucks to wait in line for beer but if you don't want to do it then don't. You're beating a dead horse.

For someone to say that Monkish enjoys this is an idiot. Henry wants everyone to be able to get his beers. He stresses out about having to live up to the hype of people camping out at 5am. He even lowered his price on the saison to make it more accessible. Right now this is the best way for them to move the cans out as quickly and efficiently as possible. Are they making money? Yes of course. But that doesn't mean they enjoy all the excessive hype and having to deal with angry people when beer runs out or people drinking illegally in public and leaving trash behind.

I thought I saw a post from them using their coolship. Could be wrong, though. It was a while back.

Yeah beat me to it but that coolship was what I was referencing, I know all of their wild stuff is mixed fermentation. @DCLAguy11
