Tried briefly to find the list from 2014, but to no avail. It's been 2 years, so it could be a whole new deal this year, and I know they're promising a sneak peak of the list, but wanted to see what can be expected roughly based on past events.

Is it mostly CO breweries, with some stuff from out of state? Any Belgian lambic producers (ie Shelton stuff) poured at past Boulder Sour Fests?

I was able to get a ticket and I'm really excited for this, but $80 is a lot when you have no idea what's going to be poured. No doubt it will be a good value. I can walk home afterwards and proceeds go to a great cause, so a win win really

Past years were mostly CO sours with a decent selection of out of state stuff. I don't remember any Shelton Bros.

WtF?! had a VIP option at least the last time. I didn't get it and felt that by the time I got inside (granted I wasn't even too far back in the GA line), some beers were already tapped OR the lines were so long that by the time you stood in line to get one beer, 3 more just disappeared. I remember they announced a time they were going to open some Cantillon. I stood in line. Got towards the front. With 2 people left in front of me, they said they were done pouring it even though I could clearly see more bottles behind them. They said they were pouring those at a later time. I asked when and was told they didn't know yet. So the amount of time I waited in line only to get some other beer I wasn't really wanting (might as well get a pour of something, right?) probably another 5 beers were gone elsewhere that I would've rather tried.

Avery's will provide a bit more opportunity to get some of the lower quantity/high demand beers with only GA tickets... hopefully.

I remember the last one being heavy on CO beers. People lined up for the obvious, Stave, Cascade, a few others. But there were a TON of amazing beers being poured with no lines. Yazoo/Embrace The Funk I was able to hang out with Brandon and try a few things, I believe Powder Keg or Bootstrap, one of the two, was there right before they had opened and had the best raspberry sour at the fest....zero line. I went and herded all the people I knew over to them to make them try it. The Avery stuff in the bar was hardly any wait and I camped out on that for last 30 minutes of the fest.

I missed "the" WtF?! but the one before that I had a good time, but same thing. People lining up for the hype, missing out on some great sleepers. Typical beer fest though. The fest I'm putting on in a few weeks has the VIP option, but over all it'll be a low ticket number event for people to be able to try a lot of stuff without worrying about beers being gone or having to wait 30-40 minutes for a pour.

Has Avery announced a prospective tap list or even brewery list for the event? Just thought I'd ask since we're only a few weeks out.

Has anyone seen or heard any details on a beer or brewery list yet? We're coming up on this very quickly.

I'll venture a guess...Avery will have some vintage of Eremita

And about 14 other Kick Ass offerings from Avery, most of which I have not had the pleasure of sampling. Is it me, or does the complete list look a bit average? Maybe average is not the right word, but less spectacular than expected?

    Absolutely.

Jolly Pumpkin is bringing one beer, Weizen Bam.
Boulevard is bringing nothing but shelf beer (but historically has always brought Love Child)
Almanac is bringing nothing but shelf beer.
The Bruery is bringing nothing but shelf beer.
Ommegang is bringing nothing but shelf beer.

Missing AC Golden, Firestone Walker, Perennial, Cascade, Jester King, Captain Lawrence & Upland this year to start.

Welcome Black Project, Casey, Odd13, Powder Keg, TRVE, WeldWerks & Wiley Roots tho.

Lastly, wish Casey was bringing fruit, but alas it appears he's stocking up for his 2-year anniv. party.

We dropped off 3 beers we blended exclusively for SourFest (I'm terrible with naming beers so they're just SourFest Blend #1, #2, and #3). Each is a unique blend but all from our stock of barrel-aged sours, ranging in age from 4-14 months. Blend #1 was aged with blackberries (two separate additions), Blend #2 was aged with apricots (three separate additions) and Blend #3 was left unfruited.

If you're going, be sure to find me and say hi. I'll be the tallest guy around wearing a WeldWerks shirt.

Exactly. I pretty much had the same reaction(s). I'm going to show up a little early and hope they are pouring a few special beers, that they "forgot" to list...It's going to be warm, so I'll be drinking a lot of water alongside the sours.

Very well run festival. Good call on the misters in the tent, Avery! That prickly pear beer needs to be bottled immediately. It was ridiculous. Reminded me of fresh opuntia.

Very well run fest. Easy, relaxed atmosphere and plenty of elbow room. Very good food available for purchase. It was so nice to walk from a misted tent inside to an A/C bar and civilized bathrooms. Kudos Avery - this was a great festival.

My biggest gripe is that they did not have an IPA as one of the "palate cleansing" beers. I like hop resets.

And it was surprising that the majority of the beers had kicked by 3-3:30. I was pretty tired of sipping sours at that point anyway, but it was strange to have everything run out with over 1.5 hours of scheduled time left.

Sadly becoming more common, I think they are underestimating the state of craft beer drinkers these days, our stomachs and livers are stronger than ever.
