just so everyone's on the same page. BA Murderous has a suggested MSRP of 14.99, Good Fiend is suggested at 15.99. different stores have different margins, so a dollar more is nothing extreme, but don't allow anyone to take advantage of the limited nature of these beers. Also you will not find both beers at any stores, to spread these limited beers to more stores (we could not sell even one case to every store), accounts getting any BA allocated only got one or the other, so if you got Murderous somewhere, that store did not receive Good Fiend, we let each store suggest which of the two they would prefer when ordering and we tried our best to take that into account while making allocations.

 

Thanks for the info... appreciate it! Did everything go out today? I've spoken to some Binny's that received it today and some big ones that claim not to (most notable, South Loop and Grand). Any chance they'll be getting it tomorrow or later this week? I really want to get my hands on Good Fiend but it sounds like that's not going to happen at this rate. All the "backpack beer nerds" waited around in stores and sniped it.

 

The delivery guy told me he had 16 stops today, 2 places got good fiend. The rest got Murderous.

 

Yeah this sounds about right for the west burbs.. All of my shops got Murderous, ONE says they got a little Good Fiend..

 

Wow. Yeah, I know of two that got it but they're nowhere near me and I can't get out there until like 6:00 so I won't have a chance.

EDIT: I was talking in general, not just West Burbs.

 

this is a normal delivery week for us,the shops you normally go to they will be getting hit on the normal day, so if a store is used to getting a delivery on Tuesday, then they will get their delivery this Tuesday.

The only one that I got in touch with in the Western Suburbs that had Good Fiend wouldn't let me buy any since I'm not in his "frequent buyers club". Apparently he holds all limited releases for them and won't sell to the general public.

Happy you were able to get some as they sometimes hold for regulars if you are not one (not that I know if you are or are not).

Yeah, they're kind of weird about limited releases and their "club". I'd swing by there but i"m sure its long gone, as that place also has the tendency to sell out of things before they even come in somehow...

 

Yup. I called them around 2:00 and they still had a few bottles left but then asked if I was in the club and said only members could get them.

It annoys me, but I also completely understand. I've built up a relationship with a few places and it's helped me land a few beers. It's just annoying when you're on the wrong side of the deal!

 

Extra weird- I called just now, he said they didn't get any Good Fiend, only Murderous.. I always feel like its some dumb secret club when calling them to ask if they got something in. I have a feeling they had some... I said "do you have any of the Good Fiend"... he paused and goes... "Good FRIEND" as if correcting me, and then did a really long pause and goes.... "No we didn't get that one".

Acquiring beers is becoming the most annoying thing on the planet. It is more often than not fucking HORRIBLE.

Edit: I am more frustrated by places who are shady about it rather than just being straight up about what came in and when.

 

The guy I spoke to (which is the one that's usually there) has a pretty heavy accent so it's completely possible that I misunderstood him. I asked specifically for Good Fiend but I did mention Pipeworks and Barrel-Aged, so that's a possibility.

 

They are always super nice in-store and super super weird on the phone.

 

Ardmore only got murderous.

 

Just missed Good Fiend at Capone's by about 10 minutes. Beer temple and bottles and cans are both out too.
