Might be able to help you out. Let me see what the limits are, and how much I end up getting. They will more than likely be releasing another DIPA ("Catboy") the week you're in town though. And chances are good Dirt Nap will still be on draft.

How is the neighborhood Veil is in? Getting ready to book a hotel for the night after the 6/21 release and found an affordable one within walking distance to Veil.

there are only like 3 hotels within walking distance of Veil. ?Holiday Inn? on Broad St and a couple others I can't think of the name of by The Diamond at 95. the one on Broad should be fine - not sure I would want to stay at the ones by the Diamond.

any AirBnBs available around? might be a better option...

I can see this being their most popular release so far, I hope they make a lot and set reasonable limits!

I'm already in line you guys.

Seriously though, looking at their FB page it looks like there are posts from folks coming down from NoVa and (I believe) up from VB, some references to mules, and ISOs for NE IPA trades. It's a tough balancing act on setting the limits for sure but I really, REALLY hope they err on the side of "too small" to spread it around. Maybe they listen to people who voice that opinion of "less is more".

2 months is probably about right when when people from out of town really catch on to what killer beers Veil is producing. They have heard the "hype" leading up to their opening and probably have been able to grab a few different cans off trades. They have read/seen reviews. Now they are starting to make plans for a pilgrimage. I really think Veil leans slightly more towards the "we want to sell out as fast as we can because the beer is best enjoyed super fresh" as opposed to their wanting to reach as many locals as possible. They have thought every detail through and probably not even they could have imagined the response received week after week after week. Sell out in 1 day and that's 1 less hassle they have to deal with the remainder of the week. But yes, less is more in my book.

quick question for you guys...vising my GF in DC and i've finally convinced her to make the trip to Richmond. I saw the taplist for veil from the can release tuesday...is this what will still be on/is there anywhere to find an updated tap list? can't seem to find it anywhere else. going to most likely be there later tonight and can't wait to check it out!

also, i saw that they ran out of beer recently--is there any worry about stuff kicking tonight/are they running low on anything? we were thinking about doing mekong/the answer tonight, but can change it up if anything is running low

I don't see where they have posted that anything has kicked, so I would assume that everything is still on from Tuesday's list. They are pretty good at posting when something kicks. As far as running out of beer they have only ever done that once. No need to worry about that tonight.

Master Master Shredder Shredder (double dry hopped Master Shredder) also announced for Tuesday. Gonna be a big haul and a line to match, heh.

For anyone who has not been following the posts on this week's release and so you won't have to go scrolling back to search for what's canning.

    - Master Master Shredder Shredder (5.5%) is the double dry-hopped version of our beloved flagship IPA Master Shredder. This one came out insane! Probably our favorite Master Shredder variant yet. We know y'all are going to dig this one. Incredible aroma. Dank, fresh orange peel, grapefruit, slight onion(in a good way). We absolutely love this one and it has given us ideas for future releases

    - Dirt Nap This 8.8% Double IPA is hopped intensely with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Nelson. We actually increased the amount of Nelson this time around. This resulted in a touch less earthy/dank characteristic and a brighter, more tropical aroma. We think it came out incredible and we hope you agree.

    - Crucial Aunt (8.2%) is basically our flagship double IPA Crucial Taunt with a ton of natural mango purée and nectar added to it. We used over 100lbs of mango purée for a 15BBL batch. We also increased the Citra on the dry-hop addition to enhance the citrus/fruity aromatic component. This is our most fruit forward beer we have release so far. The mango presence is ridiculous! We think y'all are really going to dig this one.

I picked a helluva week to finally come for a can release - looks like people coming from near and far and they haven't even announced the can limits yet. Seriously hope to be able to get some of all of these - they sound awesome.

Myself and like 10 people from The Triangle (NC) are coming up as well. Gonna be the craziest Tuesday so far.

I'll be there on the 21st but I'm already disappointed seeing as there is no way that release will match this one.

Don't worry, you might actually be able to get some on the 21st.

Unless these make it until 730-8 Tuesday (80/20 they don't), I'll be a weekend taster again.

    That's some commitment!

I've seen folks posting they're coming from Nova, C-ville, Norfolk/VB and that's to say nothing of the locals. Moreover that's without them announcing can limits. Maybe they'll wait until they see what the line is at 4 before setting the limits or something?
