I haven't had Sue cans since March but I will say this as far as that beer goes: Sue is exceptionally vulnerable to being affected by a preceding beer. I had a Sue after a Todd the Axe Man once and I would've thought Sue was a crummy shelf turd beer. Opened a can batting lead off the next night and it was the normal Citra goodness. Just my two cents

Ditto. Way back when I had a Ninja vs. Unicorn from Pipeworks and then I had a decorah brewered Sue bomber and it just tasted like a wheat beer.

I wouldn't say that has anything to do with sue. I find that to always be the case when you step down in intensity.

That is true, but a vivid memory I have.

Can anyone confirm what the "Big beer in big bottles" is that TG just tweeted about?

Just called and was told the "standard" (but great) stuff that they have had lately (Galaxy Sue, Naughty 90, Nugget w/ Mosaic). Not sure if this is Clark messing with us, the tap room not being up to speed yet, or something else...

My guess is Clark being clueless like usual, they should make it so that Mike is the only one allowed to announce beer releases

Eh, if he wants to refer to Galaxy Sue and Mosaic Nug as "big beers," he's certainly entitled. Those are damn tasty brews. But part of me thinks he also enjoys the instant panic at any mention of "big beer" from them...and it certainly has worked on me.

big bottles for sale probably refers to the larger 22oz Decorah brewed beers, rather than 12oz/16oz Florida stuff

That's my guess as well. I'm all for the increased output of TG bombers the last few months.

Big bottles I can see that being 22 ounces
But it's hard to call thresher a 5% wheat beer a "big beer", is xtra citra from surly a "big beer", I don't know?

This is too much. Let's go back to the simpler times when everyone agreed that all FL Sue sucked.

I also thought the 5/25 was some of the best Sue I've had since they moved away from draft. It went south quick though without refrigeration. We did a side by side a few days ago and a lot of the bright hop aromas had faded and the bitterness came to the front.

Preferred it over the double dry hopped pSue side by side, but I'm not all that into bitter beers anymore and the dry hopped sue was a bit astringent for my tastes. Still smelled wonderful.

If you've ever tasted both, you'd realize how silly this comparison is.

But I know, that would interrupt your vendetta/obsession of whining about all things TG.

Have had most of batches from FL, and 05/25 05/27 no doubt was the best of them all, whiffs and tastes of SUE from 2014, just opened a 06/01 Batch its good but whatever TG down in Lakeland for the 05/25 05/27 batch it was not repeated in 06/01.

Having a 5/27 and its freaking delicious. Echoing what some people said earlier, very reminiscent of the decorah stuff with some more bitterness lingering instead of a sweet malty flavor.

Another concur on 5/27. I had one after a Mosaic Golden Nugget and it was a gush of melon in my mouth. It was very good! So was the Mosaic GN. Wish we could find this stuff fresh(er) more often..

Having a 5/25 Sue right now. It really is damn close to as good as the last growler I picked up in IA.

Question about mug club. I know registration is closed, but do they open it up every so often and accept a couple people first come first serve or is it pretty much exclusive and now no one really gets in? Just curious how that works.
