Latest Pipeworks Releases and Updates (2018)

Just scored a Lupine tonight and it's incredible. My favorite Pipeworks beer so far.

I wish I had a bottle date or at least a season/year on BA murderous like the jones dog had in the spring

 

If you guys go to log Murderous on Untappd, note that it is a higher ABV than previous years so there is a new category for it.

Scanning the UPC may take you to the wrong beer. I'm working on fixing that right now.

 

Best thing is to stop into the store and converse with the guy. One of my regular stores told me he will tell you straight up he doesn't have it on the phone so his regulars who come in can get it.

 

Good to know. I remember looking for CJD and not one of the North burbs stores, and I mean your farthest north accounts, had any. It could have been they flew off the shelves too fast for me to get, I just heard it was a limited city only release, but obviously that person was mistaken.

 

I love when shops say they got a little. They got a whole case. PW isn't splitting cases. A store either got a case of fiend. A case of murderous. Or nothing. Whether they sold the whole case to the public is a different story.

 

This happens a lot it seems... "We got a few bottles in".. Come on guys, more like -you held back half the case for yourselves and your friends and thats what you have left.

 

One of my stops over here has a few Lupine left, I keep meaning to grab one but something else always shows up. Hearing a ton of good things.

And NotPipeworks (or whomever handles adding accounts), I want to offer a serious/selfish thanks for adding Riverside Foods as an account. The owner/beer guy does a phenomenal job of bringing in a nice variety of beers and definitely supports the local breweries. Nice to know that I'll soon be able to pick up your beers while supporting a local business.

ps - if he asks, please consider coming to the Riverside Hop Stop beer festival (okay, this is more selfish)

 

I couldn't imagine owning a bottle shop on the day(s) of big releases. You've got the truck chasers and then those who call every store to inquire if it's in stock. You only get their business for the special releases...

 

I haven't been able to get any BA pipeworks this week so far, but I picked up a lupine after so many people in this thread have spoken so highly of it.

 

What's up with that War Bird though? Is it around yet?

 

Yeah, I've seen it a few places. Haven't picked it up myself though.

Supposed to be happening within the next couple of weeks.

I can only hope that he eventually gets the BA stuff, but I'll be happy to have some NvU and Lizard King and would be quite thrilled with the occasional bomber....baby steps

 

Haha thanks. Thats good to know they have a good response from locals, we're really excited to be entering the market in Berwyn. Should be there next week.

 

Picked up the last bottle of Good Fiend at Moreno's.

Also got a four pack of Lizard King. Never had it before and don't normally drink IPAs. Trial by fire, I guess.
