Your Favorite Summer Beers

Me too, when I first heard it I thought it was a Shower Beer, like who drinks beer in a shower.

 

What's wrong with drinking beer in the shower? It's one of the most relaxing things ever.

 

Sometimes I drink beer when I'm shaving...the shower seems like a logical next step.

Judging shower beers is bullshit, when women drink champagne in a hot tub it's sexy and sophisticated when I drink beer in the shower I'm an alcoholic, that's a bs double standard.

 

I picked up a 6'er of Epic Los Locos Mexican Lager last week, and fricking loved it. I suspect it may get a love/hate type of response, but I think it's a great summer beer. I'm bummed I drank the last one today after mowing the lawn. I could use another right now.

For me, when I am chilaxing by the pool I reach for Stone Go To IPA. A nice session beer, dunno if you like hops or not, but a good beer. That would make me happy all day in the sun

 

No brainer, you're in florida! Jai Alai all day.

 

Though by no means a true style designation, summer ales are everywhere right now. And while so many of them sound delicious, refreshing, and perfect for the outdoors, the sheer number is a bit overwhelming. As someone who is admittedly ignorant of the style - I've really only had Victory's summer ale, which I thought was fine (not great, but certainly not a bad beer) - I'm curious as to your favorite/best summer ales? Cheers!

 

I like Brooklyn summer ale and Oberon if that counts. It's not an exciting style, but there are a few that are very enjoyable.

 

Bells Oberon, Brooklyn Summer, Narragansett Summer, Sam Summer, Sierra Summerfest are some of the bigger ones I'd go to. Great easy drinking wheat ales/lagers.

 

I always look forward to Anderson Valley's Summer Solstice, Sierra Nevada Summerfest, and Yuengling Summer Wheat

 

Agreed on Oberon. Revisited this beer a few weeks back after not having it for a few years - outstanding American wheat ale. Just outstanding. Planning to fill the fridge with more soon.

 

So wish we got Yuengling in these parts. And so agreed with SN's Summerfest - a really, really awesome Czech pils.

 

Heard mixed things about SA's Summer. Worth checking out? Wish I could get Brooklyn's Summer in my neck of the world - hell, wish I could get ANYTHING from Brooklyn out here. Sorachi Ace is one of my all-time favs.

 

Victory Summer Love is the go-to.

Picked up a bunch of Oberon and Newburgh Cream Ale.
I tend to avoid beers in the summer that have the word "summer" on the can.
