Carton Brewing (June 2016)

Drank a can of AOE two days ago and the alcohol burn towards the end that had put me off the first go around definitely mellowed out a bit. I have two left gunna let them settle in a bit more.

 

This is what I was going for. It might be in the sweet spot now for me if the orange and hops stuck around but the heat toned down. I can't drink right now because I'm on meds for my stupid poison ivy but next week I'll be diving into 1 of my last 3.

 

So btw carton secretly rereleased regular coffee cans and AOE today. Maybe for my birthday or maybe not, either way I'll take it.

 

Wha??? How much did they have? Missed the AOE.

 

there were like 4 4packs when I got there. Gone now.

Me too, except for the beach part. They haven't had Boat for weeks, so I assume it'll be back soon.

 

It seemed like ppl came looking for cans so Augie was like wtf it and threw some of his stash of AOE and reg coffee in the cooler to treat the beach crowd. It was a nice surprise I must say, especially since I missed out on the coffee release over the winter. Boat is a summer beer so they will obviously can a ton soon. I drank it on the beach today.... so good I feel like it keeps getting better if that is even possible

 

i'm going on Wednesday after work! i'm off thursday and have never been to Carton but i need to make the pilgrimage.

i LOVE the wide hours, my work schedule doesn't allow for a couple hours friday and afternoon saturday. i like the weekday openings!!

 

yea they are in a very pretty place right now, i brought a couple out of the cellar this weekend to see what people thought.

I am actually scheduling a fishing trip just so I have an excuse to break out a giant cooler full of Boat

 

I haven't had a Boat can in my life for too long. Next time it's canned I'm stocking up.

 

It's what I did for the last run. My palate is definitely demanding sessions or lighter IPA's. Even if it's a DIPA, I'll have it only if it isn't malty. Fortunate enough to live in a place where BOAT and 077 flows freely. Just haven't had the taste for anything malty lately. BOAT hit the spot at the beach on Saturday.

 

I had one yesterday and it seems to be holding up fine!

 

I have one SS Cream can left from 4/26 canning, I just don't want to let it go just yet.....

Tons of empty 077XX cans ready to be filled. Might be ready for the weekend.

Side note: SS Cream is unbelievable! Not sure what I expected a hoppy imperial cream ale to be, but this exceeds all expectations

 

My fridge let out a sigh of relief.

Side point: I don't remember the last time I set foot inside a NJ liquor store. Might have been February?
