Carton Brewing (June 2016)

I'm almost there with you, with a few special release/new offerings. My beer guy must be wondering if I'm still alive.

 

Same here. Besides picking up my beers of the month and a few limited releases. I've been running on kane, carton, other half, tired hands and some trading for awhile now.

 

I have a feeling that run is near its end for me. Trips to Boston, CT, and PA have kept my fridge/cellar stocked, but I'm going to go through my stock... hopefully I have another trip soon. After this year, any liquor store around me is disappointing. Specially if I have access to Kane/Carton of course, and now access to some of the PA/NY beers.

It's a good problem to have.

 

Right there with both of you as well, I think it was February. Outside of KBS I've been living the local brewery game, which is amazing.

 

Yeah its pretty weird to all of a sudden have this "problem" (its not a problem).. Before I had to get everything new coming through the doors at the liquor stores... But now I'm more then happy getting a few four packs of whatever is available at Kane/Carton and an odd bomber here and there for every now and again. Great time to be alive in Monmouth/Ocean County!

Hi guys I just heard there is a ferry from NYC to Carton from Threes, is that right? If so, is it worth a visit? Maybe I have a spare day in NYC and trip to NJ seems pretty interesting.

 

Definitely no ferry from Threes, but there is one from Manhattan to the town Carton is located. Its a pretty easy trip and worth it.

 

I'm meeting up with a buddy of mine(im north NJ he's south) on Sunday at Carton. Any chance these cans will make it to then? I know @augiecarton is religious about silent releases which keeps me hopeful. Also @augiecarton , I listen to StealThisBeer every morning on the way to work, I'll probably never listen to normal radio again! You, John Hall, Justin Kennedy and Brian Cass(?) are killin' it!

 

Haha I wanted to say "Threes thread/post", my miss sorry. Thanks I should look for more. + Is Kane go-able from Carton? Seems it's pretty far to Uber.. any public transportation?

 

haha no worries. Kane is doable but without a car it is not the easiest. You could uber to the Middletown train station take the train down to Allenhurst or Asbury Park then uber to Kane and when done at Kane take the train back to NYC. Also a lot of people do the Carton Kane run, you might be able to find someone to catch a ride with.

it's gonna be a beautiful weekend. i would get up and take the early boat to highlands, walk to kranky cycles rent a bike, ride out to the hook and get some morning beach. then ride by us (back-pack for beers on bike) after hit moby's for clams then drop the bike back at kranky stroll to the boat and hit the city for sun down.

 

That's like a dream day.

 

That sounds slightly better than a couple of hours on a bus

 

Been trying to plan a weekend trip to Carton. Looking at the ferry prices though, for 2 people its $90 which is pretty similar to zipcar rates if youre a member. May be better to rent a car, that way I can visit Kane too.

 

Hoping for some boat cans next week, need to re-up for Phish tour !

I'm from Jersey but this itinerary sounds so good I'm tempted to drive into NYC and then take the ferry to Atlantic Highlands. LOL. On the other hand, I've got a decent supply of O'Dub cans and could just stay home.
