I could be mistaken. I thought they stopped serving samples after they were shut down for a few weeks around this time last year.

Edit: Looking back at some older threads it was indeed a capacity issue.

Don't really care either way, just stating the obvious. Beers good enough you don't even need samples. That liquid Aloha speaks for itself upon purchase.

Old thread but new conclusion - I choo-choo-choose Trillium as the pinnacle of Boston area breweries. It's weird because I know Tree House beers get better ratings, and I view Tree House beers as more of a rare/special treat due to the fact that I can find Trillium in stores nearby or get fresh bottles by driving less than 30 min to either Boston or Canton. But if I'm being honest, I tend to enjoy Trillium more than Tree House. Phew. Feels good to admit that!

I would respect them a lot more if they had more and better variety of lighter/session/non-big IPA beers. Part of the reason I love Night Shift.

It's ok to admit it, Trillium is my favorite also.

Some of the Little Birds aren't too far off. And Sprang is technically a kolsch but I'd consider it a hoppy session beer, similar to Whirlpool.

    Aren't they making Trillikini soon?

The small bird series is in that category. Skimpy Sparrow is better than anything whirlpool will ever be.

Trillium can do other styles very well. Their saisons are very good, Deciduous is absolutely killer in the fall. I do wish they'd go back to doing some of the Dry Stack stuff.

I know that IPAs make most of the money but I'd love them to get back to some of the styles they had years ago. I've also recently started wishing they'd brew a pilsner, I think that'd be very interesting from them.

If Sprang is any indicator I feel like a Trillium Pilsner would be a hop bomb IPL...

No more of the brewery shit shows for me. If I want HF I'll go to waterbury and belly up to one of the bars. If I want to
drink at home I'll just drive to a store, get some Fair Maiden or Pieces of Eight. Even Heady is now easy to get because a lot of the out of staters are going to Tree House and Trillium. I was in Healthy Living Friday night at 8:30 and there were twenty cases of Heady just sitting there.

Went to Tree House and got Green and Alter Ego. Delicious but no better than what's around here. I'm retired from the brewery circuit, life is too short.

Trillium is now pretty widely available on tap and in good bottle shops (around boston), so I haven't even been to the brewery since January.

Heading up to Boston tomorrow to visit a friend and excited to try trillium. This what he picked up today: 1 skimpy sparrow, 1 vicinity, 1 sun shower and 1 fort point Galaxy. good haul?

    Obviously drink what you like...

...but...if you're passing up the Coffee Pot & Kettle? I think you're making a mistake - that's uncommonly good beer.

I think you're being a bit generous with widely available. I'd say selectively available, which is a step up from never a year ago.

What else did they stop brewing? They are much more IPA-centric than originally but Dry stack series is really the only one that's gone, and maybe the random grain saisons. But they've added Free Rise and dry hop variants somewhat regularly in the rotation this past year.
