Sacramento BeerAdocates - Sacramento Beer Week

Hey Abel -- I don't think I'll make it up there this time around. I'll send my bro-in-law to some events as my proxy.

hopefully we can pop a bottle on my next trip north

 

I'm definitely excited about the new SN beers. Looks like there are tons of events that will have them, but I'm not sure when or where I'm going.

 

There are a few events I hope to go to, probably a couple of tastings at the Nugget and I saw a couple of cool SN/Firestone events. Like the OP, I'm wondering if there will be any rare beers floating around this week...

 

I'm working this weekend which kinda sucks but I'll probably be going to the funk and sour fest at Samuel Horne's Tavern. And one night I'll probably head to the Yardhouse for some of the special things they have on tap.

 

I've got 4 events picked out for Sac Beer Week plus maybe hitting up a couple of things at Boneshaker in Rocklin since it is walking distance!
Call of the Wild / 2-25 / Pangaea
Firestone Walker Night / 3-1 / Pangaea
Shelton Brothers Night / 3-2 / Pagnaea
2nd Annual Funk & Sour Festival / 3-3 / Samuel Horne's

 

is anything specific happening at boneshakers? it isn't exactly walking distance for me but it's a fairly short drive...

Tomorrow Shack for Sierra Nevada Pints
Saturday Capital Beerfest (pouring and roaming for Gold Country Brewers) & Extreme Pizza for Nixie (after 11 sometime)
Sunday BFD Swapmeet & maybe Boulder Brewing at Dad's
Wed - Devere's for Sucaba and FW, plus Burgers & Brew for Allagash
Thursday - Firkin at Rubicon (event was great last year)
Friday - Hot City Hops (maybe)
Saturday - Brewday at Lockdown and may be sneak off to Sam's

I love Pangaea to death, but am afraid that place is just going to be packed to the brim. It's always packed on Thursdays and Fridays.

Their bottle prices suck the big D. I didn't think any of their events I listed had a price do they? Just a show up and pay for a pour of whatever? I have never been to one of their events so I can't speak to that - but I will never buy a bottle there even if I want to as bad as something I want really bad.

 

Ridiculous that Pangea is combining Younger with some 90's R&B dude and charging 40 bucks, which was originally priced at 70 on the website. Why not show Sacramento some beer love and just charge a normal price, and have people enjoy your shop. I might actually be a repeat customer.

I was there earlier today for some awesome no-name IPA and gotta give some love to Taylor, he's doing it right down there in Davis. I met Nick too, he said he's been coming to your bottle shares, I gotta hit up your next bottle share.

 

I didn't remember that no name ipa to be so cloudy when I had it a week or two ago. Sure tasted right tho. They'll post the name on FB tomorrow. Sorry I got to the party late and missed you guys.
